    update download link?

The links to this firmware are down.
    Modified Bios:
    HP_mb_PTGD-LA_PTGD1-LA_PTGD2-LA_3.28_sp26760_HP_SLIC-SLP_SSV3.rar
    mediaf ire.c om/downlo ad.php?gkktkek7668axd8

    But I found this link
    http :// w w w 6 8 .zip pyshare.com/v/61909627/file.html

Ok confirmed that this indeed did work , I flashed it today and it comes up with HPQOEMSLIC-CPC_V2.1 in slic tookit v3.2

Alright, I was upgrading a computer for a friend and it was an old Compaq Presario SR1103WM. I initially tried the Windows Loader by DAZ, but found that this computer was too old and lacked full ACPI support. Thus the loader method won't work.

So I went the modified BIOS route. The process was easier then I expected. The end result appeared to be a success:

    Computer Brand/Model: Compac Presario SR1103WM
    Motherboard Type: HP/Compaq Giovani2 MS-6577 (revision 4.1)
BIOS Used: Award BIOS version 3.26 (sp35101.exe/326.ROM - last version of BIOS they released for this model)
BIOS Flasher used: MS-DOS Awdflash 8.99 from bootable floppy disk.
    Slic Used: HP
    Slp Used: HP
    Certificate Used: COMPAQHP-HPQOEM-2.1
    Method Used=0+2
    CD-KEY Used: HP Win7 Ultimate

    End Result from my test:

Windows reports that it is activated (after installing the matching certificate/CD-Key and flashing the modded BIOS). I had rebooted the computer at least twice with an active internet connection and installed all windows updates (excluding the WAT update of coarse and yes I did make sure I uninstalled the soft mods from Windows Loader prior to doing this. )

Windows still shows as Genuine unlike with my failed attempts with Windows Loader, so I believe it's activated and this BIOS mod worked.

But I would invite others to double check this and if confirmed, it can be added to the list.

The download below includes the flasher, the modified 326.rom file, and the matching certificate and cd-key. You'll need to copy and paste this to address bar as forum won't let me post links yet. :(

    http://www.battlefieldsingleplayer.com/apachethunder/Unsorted/Award326_SR1103WM.zip

The original unmodified BIOS is still available from the official HP support site: (use a program like WinRAR or Universal Extractor to extract the rom file from the EXE file)

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software9/COL20511/pv-54026-1/sp35101.exe

The tools needed to install the certificate and cd key are not included, so you'll need to go get OpaTool 0.7/0.8 and use that after flashing BIOS.

My attempts to use WinFlash (at least the one that came with the sp35101.exe file) didn't work. Looks like flashing from DOS is a must for this model.

The DOS flasher was easier to use, so I see no reason to use a windows based flasher unless you're short on a floppy disc or USB flash drive.

I'm trying to find an x64 bios for a Lenovo T400. The link to Sendspace says the file is not available. Are there any other sources?

[It looks like I have to delete the links in the quoted post, since I'm a newbie to the forum.]

    Thanks.
