Works perfectly. Just ran it. Copied all the files from the still perfectly-working download link (including the Dell directory) to a directory on a bootable Win98 DOS USB drive, booted from the USB drive, entered DOS, changed to the directory with the files, and then typed "afud408 a7238ims.180" (without the quotes, natch), and it immediately kicked into gear. Rebooted the machine without a hitch. Went after the machine with a Dell Win7 Pro bootable installation USB drive, and it booted right up and proceeded to do the install without so much as a single hiccup. Am now installing Windows Updates on the new Win7 machine and it's showing as Genuine Microsoft Software beneath a Dell logo, and sailing along quite smoothly. There's nothing more in the world that I could ask for, and I just wanted to stop and give thanks for the great job to dondani, and to advise anyone else who's thinking about running this BIOS update to go right ahead and do it. Works like a charm.
