So, I have a quick question.... First off, than you to NoJuan999 for all of his hard work and his great links. It is appreciated greatly. About this particular computer...it is an HP Pavilion Elite e9120y. Contained therein is the M2N78-LA motherboard. HP's last BIOS version is 5.08, but I've noticed that ASUS has put out even more recent versions than that. Part of me says "Hey, it is ASUS' motherboard, so go ahead and flash their BIOSes, it'll work". But the other part of me says "Even though the mb model numbers are identical, HP prolly put in some crazy OEM crap which will cause the whole thing to break if you flash ASUS' BIOS into it". Would it be safe to flash ASUS' BIOS into HP's version of this MB?

I seriously doubt that the ASUS BIOS will work on your HP PC. ASUS makes OEM MB's for HP and they are almost never the same as the model released by ASUS. If you flash a BIOS that was NOT made for your specific PC/MB you very well may Brick your MB.
