Depending on your application. For a self built DVR or a laptop then the 30 watts difference could be an issue. Most enthusiasts would most likely be using custom pc cases with third party coolers to start with, so They would want the X series. Because these X series cpu have a better grading

Hehehe... That is good to know about. However, the only way Intel can stop me from not buying Ryzen 7 1800X is to reduce the price of Core i7 6th generation to barest minimum(at least $100 above Ryzen price).

Ryzen is supposedly hindered in Windows 10 due to a scheduler bug. Once fixed, it should perform better in instances where the scheduler bug hindered peformance. There is also an AMD CPU performance driver that is said to improve performance a bit. Basically it allows for the same performance as achieved by setting 'performance' in power options. It's not recommended to use that mode though as your computer will use much more power. The main reason for doing this is that it allows the 1 ms frequency/voltage switching, whereas balanced mode it is 30 ms. There may be other improvements from using the driver as well, we'l only know that once released (if the story of its existence is true).

Lastly, bios updates with microcode improvements should allow for faster RAM speeds. There may be some other improvements as well that aren't huge, but all add up :). A blanket performance improvement can't be stated simply becuase it will be application dependent. In some applications/games it could be quite signficant, others may only see a small boost. Ryzen will likely benefit from under-the-hood changes with Windows 10 Creators Update. Most of the changes in Windows are not visible. People seem to think if they can see no difference then there is none, but the changes that are being done are 99.99 percent in other aspects of the OS. Unfortunately Microsoft feel obliged to make changes to the UI that may seem unnecessary simply because without them people would insist on staying on their Windows revision. The very same people who insist on having the latest Android or iPhone with the latest software possible :g:

@burfadel I think that only time can show for all users if realy this cpu is good or not; only waiting to see :g:

Looking at reviews and presentations online it is clear the Ryzen 7 1800K is a good processor at a reasonable price. Anybody that doesn't see the price relative to specifications is not telling the truth about what the particular AMD processor is all about.
