    Abit IP35 PRO

Tested today the v8.9.0.1023 PCH-D wRAID5 on my Abit IP35PRO.(i had 7.5 before). It gives me this error(when running the raid module):
"PNP and PCI compliant bios not present". Also it shows me the correct version of the raid module: v8.9.0.1023, but it gives me this error and not show me my hdd drives in RAID MODE.
Anyway i flashed my backup bios, and it's ok now.
What does this error mean and what should i do to have 8.9 or 9.5 version?
    P.S. My MB has ICHR9.
    (Sorry for my bad english)

My DFI LP DK P45 T2RS PLUS uses AWARD BIOS containing 8.5.0.1030. This is the only one working for this board. Any other ROMs, such as 8.7, 8.8, and 8.9, are not working and have the similar errors to yours.

    Rampage Formula 0902 w/ SLIC

    Hello!
I have a Rampage Formula mobo. I've tried SoLoR's bios posted on page #16 (forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/16821451) and indeed, RAID bios no longer works with 9.x ich, so I've flashed back to original 0902 BIOS.
If someone of you are so kind to make an 0902 RF BIOS with latest working components and ASUS SLIC, I would be very grateful. I don't want to mess with BIOS, I'm afraid to not kill the board (I have bad experiences from the past ).
I think the last working modules should be:
    - ich -- 8.9.0.1023
    - jmb -- 1.07.13
    - marvell -- 6.60.2.3 (hopping those works ?!?)
    - asus 2.1 slic
    - asus SLI cert
please correct/update them if I'm wrong.

SoLoR, haven't you got your RF back from warranty? It wold be comfortable for me to know somebody tried before the modded BIOS... :D

Hope to upgrade to W7 soon and let XP as a second choice; didn't try W7 yet, waiting for your help with the modded RF BIOS...
Thank you very much and keep up the good work!

Thank you hanzzon2. Indeed it's working flawless as I've tested it in the past, although w/o SLIC as I hadn't installed W7 yet.
But maybe someone would be so kind and mix up those modules specified by me so I will happily try W7, as this would be a last ROM for this mobo (which is working great, for me at least, btw)

    Two new config drives?!

I tried to update my ASUS P5Q Premium bios 2001.
Updating Intel Raid from 8.0 to 8.9 went fine.
When trying 9.5 I got msg about hardware init error, so I stay with 8.9

Updating Marvell Pata 61xx from 1.1.0.L70d to L72a brought me two additional devices in windows. ("Config ATA0 Device 8GB") or so, which aren't accessible.
So there it seems something went wrong when updating Marvell part.
Connected PATA devices (HDD and DVD) are recognized fine, but I worry about that two new devices.

    Replaced parts with MMtools 3.22.

    Remove component

For some days i'm desperate looking for a solution for my 'infamous Asus Chassis intruded' bug.

I have 2 systems based on Rampage Formula mainbord. When i was in need for a quick jumper (flashing a SSD) i 'borrowed' the Chassis intrusion jumper, since then both system's wont boot anymore, after post i get "Chassis intruded ! Fatal Error... System Halted"
Ofcourse i placed the jumpers back, even replaced the jumpers with new tested ones. I cant get rid of the message.

It is a bug between the bios and a Winbond chip.

Does somehave have a clue if it's possible to remove or disable the Chassis Intrusion option in the Bios ?

By default, there is not a option to disable this check.

To prevent the 'clear CMOS' answers. The chassis intrusion is NOT stored in the CMOS.
    I tested:
-clear CMOS by pressing the clear-cmos button on the back (Asus RoG mainbords doenst have a clear CMOS jumper, it have a switch instead)
-removed the battery, place a toothpick on the clear-cmos button, remove powercable and let it rest for 12hours
-same procedure as above, without the toothpick
-tried the 15/30/60sec's hold reset button 'tip'
-flashed to release, beta and newest bios versions
-Temperatures are all ok, checked fans, rpm etc.etc.

So i've got 2 options left AFAIK.
    -RMA the mainbords.
-Somehow find a bios hack, removing the Chassis intrusion checks

RMA the mainbords is not an option for me, i modified the mainbords for watercooling, i cant build them back to stock cooling.

Yes, i can use the systems, after a CMOS clear you get the option: F1 for setuo F2 for defaults and continue boot.
Pressing F1 will result Chassis intruded after saving bios setup.
F2 will result continue boot with default settings. without OC and RAID settings.

Yes, to RMA. But that is not an option for me. (silverglued waterblocks)

I've also got the same board. I guess all we'll be able to update is the Phoenix Option ROM BIOS and the JMicron ROM, then (unless a newer 64kb Intel ROM appears for some reason). Plus there won't be any BIOS updates from abit anymore, so we're pretty much shafted there.

What do the ROM updates do, anyway?
