Sure, but there is just no point of doing it. And I said 'genuine' because I've extracted it from a Gigabyte BIOS and it is not a modified version to behave as a Gigabyte one. THe Jmicron version I posted earlier is also 'genuine', there are no changes at all and was extracted from a Jetway BIOS. The only diferences compared to the JMicron OROM are: - suggests GRAID as default array name instead of JRAID - hotkeys to enter utility are CTRL+G instead of CTRL+J The code itself is EXACTLY the same, except for a few CALL/JMP addresses changes because of the company name string size differences that made the code move forward some bytes (obviously).
Guys, could you tell me where is Memory Table in the Asus x58 mobo AMI bios situated (which module id in bios)? For x45-48 chipset it was in the 15 module id. Want to add Memory Table from the top x58 Asus mobo to my Asus p6t ws pro for more memory compatibility. Or it is not worth trying? Thanks in advance.
As I've been posting, my ICH9R equipped abit IP35 Pro throws a "HARDWARE_UNKNOWN" or "PNP/PCI compliant BIOS not installed!" error with anything and everything newer than 8.5.0.1030 (64kb ROM). Everything newer is >64KB. I am running Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver 10.1.2.1004 WHQL with OROM 8.5.0.1030 with no issues.
Used P5Q (-E, SE/R, Deluxe, Premium) with ICH10R with 8.9, 9.6 and 10.1 option roms. All worked flawless for several months. Only issue I had was usage of 10.1 software under Win2008R2, service stopped working. 9.6 software worked under 2k8r2, 8.9 too. But was only a problem with server, Win7 can use 10.1 without problems.
I'm using both 10.1.0.1008 rom and driver on my Asus P5E3 deluxe (ICH9R) for more than a month now and hasn't skipped a beat.
To clarify, I get the errors I mentioned in RAID mode only! AHCI/IDE do not throw any errors. I am wary of running the newer OROMs even though I do not require RAID because of that fact.
The reports of success regarding ICH10R are fully consistent with the Tech Note. As for ICH9R, well ... Any reports of ICH8R?
Thanks for new roms... btw did anyone figured it out yet how to replace both lan roms in ami bios with mmtool? no matter what you do it only replace first one....
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Option ROM v10.5.0.744 is _NOT_ working with ICH9R on Rampage Formula (x48) i dont know about new JMB rom because im not using any IDE devices....

Big difference in sizes between Intel Rapid Storage Technology Option ROM v10.1.0.1008 (86,528 Bytes) and Intel Rapid Storage Technology Option ROM v10.5.0.744 (120,832 Bytes)!!! Better wait for more responses.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Option ROM v10.5.0.744 is _NOT_ working with ICH10-R on ASUS P5Q-DELUXE
So... i guess current intel roms are only for x58/PCH... so its 9.5 (or it was 9.6?) all over again... first version of those only worked on x58/PCH later they made it compatible with ICH as well....
Can anybody help me change the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Option ROM in my F7J bios for my GA-X58A-UD5 rev1 board? I never did it before but really interested in learning this. Bios GA-X58A-UD5 rev1 F7J : Intel Rapid Storage Technology Option ROM v10.5.0.744 : I tried with cbrom but that messed up my complete bios.
