Excuse me, yes 2.2.0.1113 is right. Has been trying to are Intel 10.5.0.1034 on his motherboard. On my Asus Sabertooth it functions, but has P55 chipset.
Excuse me, how do you modify EVGA bios which carries a .4M file format? I used mmtool3.22 but encountered an error. Could you please share your method? Thank you!
Intel RST Option ROM 10.5.0.1034 Works on my ASUS P5K-Deluxe.This is a P35+ICH9R Mobo.I tested it on RAID 0 mode and boot into windows7 64bit SP1 edition normally. However, the random seek time of My RAID array is kinda slower than my previous system in 32bit windows7. My RAID 0 array was first created with Intel RST Option ROM v9.6. However, I DIDN'T test it with RAID 1,AHCI or IDE Mode, but I guess it should work ,too. In previous posts, some people experienced incompatibility of Intel RST Option ROM 10.5.0.1034 with their ICH10R Mobo. May i asked with which option ROM version the RAID array you guys first created? Because I wonder older RAID array created by older option ROM version could be responsible for the incompatibility.
OK, thank you for your replies. Does anyone knows how to modify EVGA bios? Searched and read a lot of results and still doesn't have a clue.
The official Realtek 8110SC PXE Option ROM 1.75c contains 2 different ROMs. One is tagged as PXE ROM,and the other is tagged as".lom". Anyone knows the difference between those 2 ROMs ? If i want to modify my Mobo BIOS,which one is the exact ROM that i should replace with? Thanks a lot.
For my abit IP35 Pro BIOS, I use .lom as that is what abit used in some of their BIOSes (for some reason, most versions did not actually include any PXE boot ROM ). I don't know what the difference between the 2 versions are.
PXE - pre-execution environment used by network controllers to boot-up PC from network RPL - another protocol similar to used by "simple" PXE but comes along with pure PXE Network card OROM NIC - network interface controller - standalone network cards LOM - LAN on Motherboard - integrated network cards Network cards (LOM/NIC) OROMs have at least PXE and basic protocol in it but can be bundled as PXE+RPL then the size is bigger and the capabilities are wider. The best way to have latest Realtek NIC/LOM OROMs - from official site - it always has the latest - Realtek is one of those who care of their customers in this way. Also
On my testbed: Created Raid5 with 10.1.0.1008, installed Win7, works flawless, upgraded to 10.5.0.1034. I can go into Raid-Settings, but when trying to boot into Win7 it halts on boot in bios with a "checking NVRAM" message. P5Q Deluxe bios 2301 modded So maybe Raid0 or Raid1 works, but not Raid5 atm.
Hi, I am starting to have a look at this now. I can see 4 PCI Optional ROMs. In order in ASUS 2104 BIOS. This motherboard is a P55 chipset. 8086:2822 (Intel Option RAID ROM?) 8086:0042 (NO idea but the MB comes with a JMicron 322 controller) 10EC:8167 (I assume Realtek LAN ROM but the numbers are different to given. MB has RTL8110SC) 197B:2363 (JMicron 363 ?) Could some please confirm the above. Also, any kind sole like to give me links to the ROMs I need? Thank you!
Extract those ROMs and open them with a hex editor, you should be able to find some plain text that tells you what the ROM is. 8086 is always Intel. Your 8086:0042 is probably VBIOS or PXE ROM. I think you're correct about the other 3.
Thanks for your detailed information about the different formats of the Realtek PXE ROMs. Now i sucessfully modded with the .lom to my Mobo and it works perfectly
Could just press "Thanks" button i'd understood. How did you know that? Did you booted up to LAN ROM PXE/RPL interface? Only using OROM at least once can guarantee that it's incorporated and works well. Otherwise it's just a wasting of BIOS ROM file space (as well as preboot PC BIOS image memory) with untested modules - everyone keep it in mind.
Actually it's in binary. It has 'PCIR' (or several ones with the latest as the needed on as a rule) with 4 bytes after - the binary PCI device & vendor sig in ...-endian format. 'PCIR' + 4byte devid sig.
I am trying to download these files but it is saying that the zip is empty. Where can I get these files?
Thank you! Does that Realtek rom work with the RTL8110SC of my M3F? Also I am chasing the JMicron 363 Optional rom... you know where I can get it?
The realtek .lom file works with your M3F. jmicron jmb363 v1.07.25 can be found in this thread. I have a copy but it's in my office PC. Try to find it yourselves.
