Afaik. WAT update (kb971033) shouldn't affect both, kms or daz loader activation, only removewat or other old activation will be undone by it.
1. I'm really ashamed to write this but, for the life of me I cannot remember. What little I remember makes me think it was Windows Loader by Daz. I suppose there is no way to find that out at this point? 2. The shame continues as I'm not familiar with any of those. Any further information is much appreciated, the computer came with Windows 10 pre-installed but I really wanted to use Windows 7. 3. Z170 Pro Gaming to be precise
Hey, thanks for sticking with me so far. Unfortunately, I can't get the bios update done today; it figures that if you have a bunch of USB-sticks all around your apartment that you suddenly cannot find any when you need one but I'll get it done tomorrow as it's getting late here. Is there perhaps something wrong with my motherboard/BIOS because Windows System Information says "System Manufacturer" in System Manufacturer?
@Kalevala No issue, take your time. Regarding the 'System Manufacturer' thingy, its pretty much normal for Asus mobos - nothing to worry about.
I've put the WAT update in all win 7 wims i ever made, never saw it interfere with any of the activations, Windows Loader, kmspico, kms_vl_all by abbodi1406 or mtk.
Glad to hear it's not unusual. I went ahead and actually used the BIOS update utility in the BIOS and went from version 2003 to 3402. After that the utility says that the BIOS version is up to date. Just in case, here's the second version of MGADiag report. I tried using the .CAP file in the BIOS update ulity but it kept complaining about the file. I tried using the script in the link powershell-script-for-windows-7-non-genuine-issue-is-available which failed. Report attached also.
This is true that it is documented and appears to happen specifically with Microsoft KMS 2016. But this issue may have a wider scope. If you tested and confirmed that this is not the case, then this is it. Thanks.
@Kalevala Great! So you now have permanent SLIC in your mobo's firmware. You just need to install the appropriate certificate & key, which can be done manually or by using an app like Windows Loader.
I grabbed Windows Loader v2.2.2 and ran it. It mentions in the status part about the notification. Will just uninstalling and then installing again take care of putting in the appropriate certificate and key?
You just click "Install". With a valid SLIC in the firmware, only the Certificate and key will be installed. The Loader won't need a reboot in this case.
Please show us a screenshot of the loader window. After installing the cert & key, a validation using IE is required to flush out the non-genuine status.
Hey, understood. I did the installation, but it might just be my rotten luck that the Microsoft validation page doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me right now and instead opens a blank page in a new window. I'll try to hammer it again in a while.
