i have never created a windows 8
created.

Are there still updates for it ?

do i need additional programs to add updates?

 

?? 8.1 is still supported and updated monthly.

8.0 is dead, just Server 2012 (based on 8.0) still lives.

If 8.1 will get an ESU phase is unknown to me, but I bet that Server 2012 R2 (based on 8.1) will get one. Might become a similar situation to today's "Vista vs. Server 2008 SP2" mess.

How can I get embedded 8.0 working?
9/10 times it asks for a key during installation with seemingly no way to bypass it, and the few times it went through without the key it was just a black screen with a terminal window.

The one I downloaded is "Embedded 8 Standard."

 

Actually since 2012 will be getting updates till 2025, is there any point opting for embedded 8.0?
Aren't they identical?
Or does "ESU" mean paid updates?

 

They can cut out Embedded 8 from updates, like they did with regular Windows 8
