we actually stopped dealing with eset due to many unhappy customers and it missing a lot of stuff for me...i actually like norton internet security and the soon to come 2011 version is very nice, the newest kaspersky 2011 was just released and is very very nice and i also like avast internet security. avira while it has great detection it is very high in false positives which can sometimes cause more issues then virus' themselves..we never have complaints though about the newest norton stuff 2009 and 2010 were very nice products... i liked kaspersky 2009 and 2010 not as much but 2011 is now very nice again
better than 2010 was. still a bit heavy on the system compared to norton and avast overall not to bad. the only thing with kaspersky is its hips and its constant pop ups asking what to do that a lot of people dont like and some dont know to answer..
GDATA uses 3 different engines to detect malware. Makes it very effective, but a huge resource hog. Never used trustport though.
Currently i'm using eset smart secuity which is very light in resource as well as updates. I've been using it for the las 1 year.Really effective in keeping malware and virus far from my pc
I used Eset for a year or so, and I really liked it. However, when they released version 4 it really slowed down my PC. It doesn't matter because that old PC crapped out on me and I decided to just go buy a new one. I haven't tried reinstalling it on the new PC yet.
Kaspersky has just released its 2011 antivirus and internet security packages. I believe those along with Norton 2010 are the best security products in the industry so far
I haven't tried Kaspersky 2011 yet. However, Norton has always been an 800 pound gorilla. The 2010 version is no exception. This is NOT to say that its not a good product. It in fact is very good, but you need a fairly fast computer to run it on. For older or lower powered PC's and laptops, Avira or Eset are very good choices. My older Dell laptop is running with the following configuration: Win Xp Avira Malwarebytes (free version - manual run) Comodo firewall (free - simple mode) This has worked very well and has light resource requirements. I also used Eset in place of Avira for about 6 months. Both are good. I don't recommend using the Comodo suite yet. But, their firewall is simply the best out there.
i vote for avast 5 AIS, it is small yet do not clogging your RAM. had tried KIS before but my comp became slower
Still vote for avira free as my vote is concerned. I've simply never had any problems and it's the simplest and easy to use IMHO! I've tried to dl the others and they seemed unclear what trial is exactly and how long you get, etc... I feel like avira has been the least invasive regarding adds or pop ups and I'm always assured I can use it forever without any problems. My Avira premium subscription ran out so I tested comodo, kasp, and others and they were flagging unnecessary stuff all the time and seemed to lock me down rather than just monitor in real time And I was up for a change but just didn't like the appearance or behaviors of the other AV's
Thats exactly what i experienced. The only other one that i (in my highly personal opinion of course) always considered acceptable is AVG, which i used for some time when AntiVir had those horrible update-server problems after going from v8 to v9. Unfortunately their (AVGs) scanning engine became slow as hell when they went to v9 (opening a folder with a couple dozen .exes suddenly seemed to take an eternity since the scanning seemed to never end) so as nice as it used to be, its not really an alternative anymore either. But then Aviras detection rate is way higher these days anyway. The times when AVG used to have a certified 100% detection rate are unfortunately over...
