Hi, I have been playing age like 10 years now and I can't find anything close to the old medieval style trebuchets and scenarios. Any finds?
AoE is legend you won't find anything to really match it in medieval era. There is Empire Earth and Empire Earth 2 but not as good and those cover a large time frame unless you skirmish on a specific era. There is also Rome Total War but that has large scale battles and a different feel. I enjoyed Age of Empires 3, maybe you should try that, the ship battles are loads of fun and it has decent graphics. If you would like to try a really fun series that has different weapons you can try Warhammer 40k Dawn of War and Expansion, loads of fun, it sucks you in for hours. Also Rise of Legends is fantastic, you can get massively powerful weapons and units in there and wreak havoc
Glest and its iind version both are same. you have to create units, wood, gold and artilery and fight.
Also look into Rise of Nations, if you like Age of Empires then you most likely like it. It will run on Windows 7 64-bit to boot. Rise of Legends is off the same engine but is fantasy based i.e. magic, alien races, civilization based off of da Vinci. If you don't mind turn based there is always the great Civilization series. Age of Mythology is based off of the Age of Empires II engine, as is Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (in case anyone was wondering).
I love Rise of Nations. You start out like AOE but you end up having nuclear weapons. I also love Warzone 2100, its even free online, I must have played that game hundreds of time.
