Great free FPS/horror called "Area 51" from Midways Studios Austin. It used to be retail, but it's an oldie, but goodie, check it out.
Company of Heroes all the way... latest version is Company of Heroes : Tales of Valor 2.602 non steam version play it with Blitzkrieg mod....totally worth it. there is coh 2 also available...but i wouldn't recc, as blitzkrieg mod does all that coh 2 does with coh tov. but coh 2 also is a great game with latest dlc ardennes assault. another game is World in conflict.. play it plain first. then use modern warfare mod. these two are my favorite (strategic) games. excellent visuals...especially physics, if you are into it.
I was thinking maybe The Sims 3 or something. The Sims 4 is out for sure but it's just not worth it atm. It lacks so much that TS3 has.
Steam's great, too, but some of the stuff on there is just rubbish indie games no one wants. I am not saying indie games are bad, before anyone starts to flame. It's just some are complete rubbish.
My 2 cents, gta5 is best overall, its funny, balanced, easy at moments, with certain details that new gamers to old gamers like, yeah. Tomb Raider 2013, because... Lara. I like Euro Truck Simulator, with G27, mods, and time to play, its a "unstress" remedy. Good 2.5D games, ducktales and castle of illusion remastered, shank... Just saying, i'm not a 24/7 gamer, but i spend a bit time playing these, if you like strategy with action, maybe EU4...
The Elder Scrolls. I've played more Oblivion than any other game out there, and since Steam's latest sale I'm burrowing into Morrowind and Skyrim even more than before.
Black Mesa... I was totally surprised, in a good way. I thought there'd be NO WAY it could do justice It Delivered!
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers for the SNES. Oldie but goodie! I always come back to that when trying to make up a combo or set up a strategy. I suck though.
