As far as I'm aware there won't be. I've seen people speculate a new LTSB in 2019.

    No. Just security updates.

It is supposed to stay on 1607 14393 for 10 years, but the whole "only security updates" is not true. LTSB 2016 gets ALL the same 1607 14393 updates (security AND bug fixes) as all other 1607 14393 builds/versions, even if those updates have bugs that MS is very much aware of. Of course only existing LTSB components get updated, even if updates can update components not present in LTSB, like Store and Edge, although Store can be integrated into LTSB.

It simply does not include all the new features, although it does include some important ones, like WDDM 2.1 to fully support DX 12 Shader Model 6.0 that was not present until build 1607 14393.

I remember reading a speculation that LTSB is released along side new Server images.

As eager as I am to see new freshly updated LTSB images, I'm still perfectly happy with my LTSB v1607.

I believe it was in Australia on a convention MSFT said the next LTSB was expected in 2019.

LTSB doesn't get new features and next 15063 will be RS3, a feature upgrade of 15063.0, so normally no new LTSB.

Those who have installed LTSB have done that for the reason it never needs to upgrade, why they are so eager to get a new one, i don't get ;):)

Yep. I want my OS to keep looking the same and not change every 6 months thank you! And non of the new features are particularly note worthy now are they hmmm? An upgrade every 5 years is good enough.

On the topic of updates, with EMET to be included in a future build (fall I believe) will such an update be delivered via a security update for LTSB? I know that it may be considered a feature, which LTSB does not receive, but on the other hand it is a security program, one that enterprise users may wish to explore, so i wonder if it would be included in some for of update for LTSB users.

I surely do not want any TRASH added to my LTSB (en_windows_10_enterprise_2015_ltsb_x64_dvd_6848446.iso)
