My Windows 11 test VM is running in the background and I forgot to turn the volume down. Seemingly out of nowhere I get a deafening Windows 11 notification sound I was not expecting. Scared the crap out of me and then I had a good laugh.
You can turn the system sounds off for background VMs. Pants saved. Sometimes I have 5 VMs open and am remoted into 2 or 3 other systems. Every system sound is followed by a happy-go-hunting for the question which one made it. Usually, it's the last I check.
Obviously, I just completely forgot and since the notification sound is completely different, it was very unexpected.
