@ghoffman It's not a mandatory update, it's optional it will not automatically installed so I hide this update at WU.
I fixed it by just deleting everything with "OGAAddin.connect" in the registry Office is working fine now, the pop up message has not re-appeared......
where did you get the legit ones from? if it were me and i paid big $$ for something pirated, i would take it back to the place i bought it from are you a store?
Hi, glad to have found this thread. I also wanna remove the OGA update and I did a system restore. The Update was just installed yesterday evening and so I just rolled back to yesterday morning. Is that enough or should I even go back further? I have Vista and in the list of installed updates KB949810 still appears as "installed successfully". The folder 8998da55d52b36c0e98ba016ddd50de0 with the Cabinet "OGANotifier" still exists on my machine. Is this how it should be even after a proper system restore to a date before the update? I would appreciate any help or advice because Im stuck. Thank you so much in advance. Kelly
No. You have to uninstall it using that command. Double clicking it, installs it, obviously. The "msiexec /uninstall" command is the same command triggered when you uninstall a program from add/remove programs in ctrl panel.
You don't have to do a system restore. System restore doesn't delete the downloaded file. Extract the cabinet to obtain the OGANotifier.msi and run the "msiexec /uninstall OGANotifier.msi" to remove the update completely. Then you can delete the cab file also.
Hi kukubau, yes, system restore does not delete the downloaded files. But it deletes the exe file that is responsible for the popup windows. I havent had the popup window since the system restore. My question is what to do with all the folders that have been created by installing the update and that have not been deleted by system restore. Thanks for your help! kelly
I am using win7 with slic mod, and then office 2007 with sp2, but in my windows update I cannot find any KB949810. (It says no update available). I looked at the hidden updates and also the installed updates and update history, and search the \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download for the oga*.cab file... (none exist)! Why is it not showing up? Did MS pull it out? part of the output from MGAdiag. KB949810 was offered via WU, i think, about a month ago; but i declined to download/install it, but instead have it marked as hidden. Since then i have not seen it anywhere. Good riddance. Lol.
