    back on windows 7 ultimate x64 !
i activated it on my xps M1330 with the modded bios that made BBSC,
    the M09 slic 2.1
    slmgr -ilc dell.xrm-ms : installed
    slmgr -ipk <the oem key> : installed
slmgr -ato : product avtivated :D

the only thing that is strange is the command slmgr -dlv,
i have partial product key : PMJBM
    License status : licensed
but i still see remaining windows rearm count : 3

i think it's possible a windows bug, cause i can set the date to wich one i want, my OS is still activated with 3 rearm with the date 02/08/2010 for exemple, i can rearm 3 times, and when i am at 0, it's still the same thing,
OS activated, ream count 0 and i can set the OS to any date i want.
anyone had the same problem with win 7 x64 ?
    i used the OEM iso.

ailef, it's not a bug :) There always will be shown the number of rearms left :)

Hi all, so is the XPS 420 hopeless at the moment? I think the first problem was the flashing exe doesn't use the readgzfile switch, correct? Would it be worth checking previous versions of the bios .exe for the switch (can it be revealed in a hex editor?). If no luck there, can another Dell flashing utility be used to flash the modded bios for the XPS 420?

Here's the list of supported arguments I was able to grab from the XPS420-A07 exe:
    NOPAUSE
    NOREBOOT
    WRITEHDRFILE
    WRITEROMFILE
    RBURESULTS
    REPORTSTATUS
    SHOWERRVAL
    PWD:
    PWD:
    PWD:
    CLASSIC
    DIRECT
    FORCEIT
    FORCETYPE
    WIPEALL
    WIPECLEAN
    BBSPCI
    BBSLPC
    BBSSPI
    CLEARDESC
    WRITESPIROMFILE

So, no readgz. Does this mean we're screwed?

I checked the previous versions on Dell's FTP site, no go, sorry. We still have to figure out how to flash that one

it seems that it's more difficult to add a slic 2.1 into a dell bios if it has not allready the slic 2.0 ? right ?

OK but tell me exactly what you need me to report and how ?

Do you want Acpi/Slic than save file and do i have to save it as .rw or another format ?

That would be fine, just so I can confirm the start and end of the tables. I will explain myself in detail when I upload the mod, I believe that is about three of these cases so far

    the xps720 is a desktop ?
if yes, so it's not M07 or M08 that is the OEM ID table i think,
    M07, M08 and M09 are for laptops i think,
i'm not sure at 100% but it's possible and is why there are different dell slic.

That hasn't been done yet. Maybe with the work being done here, maybe...
    but not yet.....
First we have to know the exact start and end of the modules, the mystery byte may need to be determined so that the correct value is put there and the exact place to introduce these modules
