First you have to say thank you only to shakeyplace, I did nothing. Second I think that you do not have slic tables. But once again: Download RW Everything 1.3 -> click Access -> clicl ACPI Tables and wait a few seconds -> a new windows is opened where you will find SLIC tab.

I am not sure, not familiar with that program..
The one I worry about is Windows 7, it validates these.....

Hello, SLIC 2.1 upgrade request :

request retracted; just realized that Dell will very probably update the Bios of the Precision T7400 very soon. It's also in their free Windows 7 upgrade program.

    Waiting patiently and rearming...

Thank you anyway. You are doing a great work!!!

Well, decided to just close my eyes and hope!! AS you can see we're back up and running, now just need to remove grublo*der and see if I'm still activated. Anyhows, the BIOS mod didn't brick the board!!.:D

Will report back again once I have removed the grublo*der.

    This was Shakey's D820 A09 BIOS mod.

Whew, so far so good. no bricks reported yet... fingers crossed...
But, yes all it takes is missing one step or a typo and brick.
Everyone please be careful and double check your mods before flashing I hate to see someone brick something that they can't afford

I have a DELL Vostro 1700 notebook (Bios Revision A06 I think), I tried to check which version of SLIC is present but without success.
On the PC was preistalled Win VISTA, then what I was wondering: what is the reason of updating the SLIC? is necessary to activate Windows 7 RTM on DELL notebooks? or can I directly use the 7Loader with OEM key without problems?

I have not yet tried to activate it because I do not want messed up the system Someone could explain witch options can I choose to activate RTM Win7 on my PC DELL Vostro 1700?

    thank you very much
