Anyone using Windows 10 as Main OS?

I'm running the Tech preview as a main os. I did an upgrade instead of clean install and I was hoping something to break, but everything is running smooth, it's almost annoying this way. There's nothing to tinker with! Even all my drivers are working great, no issues so far!

 

What's the look of Windows 10?

 

Win 8/8.x with Start Menu and no Charms (at least Windowed Modern Apps are better to handle) .

 

Faster than 8.1 performing a clean install on my ssd and it takes about 10 seconds to boot
I haven't encountered any compatibility problem, today I'm going to test Adobe creative cloud suite and some games

 

Nice thing is that the CMD Window isn't restricted in size now, can run in full-screen .

 

That just made my day. I swear, I spend like half my day in the cmd window sometimes.

 

i cant drag and drop files to get their path on command prompt, this sucks

 

Not crazy enough to do that yet but if and when a new Preview build is released (like a Consumer Preview) I could see my way to replacing a Windows 8 installation with it.

Probably subject my tablet or my real portable computer to it (right now it's running on an extra laptop I stopped using last year).

Not silly enough It may be cool to tinker with stuff early but you are bound to run into some issues down the line so not worth it as a main OS right now. I have it installed on one of the spare laptops i have kicking around.

 

After XP, all Windows Beta versions I used as my main OS!
From Longhorn to Vista.
Every Build of Windows 7 that was leaked, and there were a lot!
Windows 8 Technical Preview.
And now Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Yes, I use Windows 10 as my main OS and loving it.
Today installed on my daughters PC, after school for lunch I told her she has Windows 10.
She jumped and screamed "Yes" , she is almost 12 years old.

Installed on a separate ssd on my main pc, I will be using this most of the time on a daily basis. I'll go back to my other drive when I need to access some programs I have not installed yet on this drive. So far I like most changes that have been made. IE doesn't seem to crash (haven't had any yet) as in win 8.1.

 

I just installed Windows 10 x64 on my SSD as my main OS, liking it so far!

Got NVIDIA drivers installed for my GTX275 working great.

 

are you insane?. This is a preview version that expires. Why would you use it as main OS?

Actually yes. Although I use my desktop mostly for browsing, watching movies and so on. Laptop still runs on Win 8.1 and probably it won't change till official release of Win 10.

 

Yelp! I've just installed it on one of my laptops as full operating system. Google Chrome Canary, Internet Explore Desktop, etc are functioning perfectly. It is cool though. One more thing though, Internet Explorer seems to function better on YouTube in Windows 10 than Windows 8.1 . I don't experience flash video problem as I used to in previous version.

 

Yes. I'm using it as my main system. Everything fine so far with a few glitches here and there. Haven't tried gaming yet. I'll do it this evening.

 

OMG, Same, I will try gaming soon now too, I was using it all long in University and it worked really very fine, aside from the known stupid UI bugs, it works perfectly fine.
This is the first time Upgrade does what it says, it kept EVERTHING intact and upgraded the system only
