See? There are lots of insane people Due is unbelievable reliable and stable so far to be a technical preview, Windows 10 users are installing it an leaving it as the main OS. Different tastes, different choices, different perspectives of things...
If I am in any position to reply to this your questions the answers would be as follow: 1) No, I am not insane. This is not the first time I have used a technical Preview as main OS. In fact, I have tried it in Windows 7, windows 8 and Windows 8.1 without having any problem. I am using it on my spare laptop with minimum configuration. It is Acer Aspire S 7. 2) Yes, it will expire in seven months time or thereabout. But, I would have to upgrade with a genuine key or do another fresh installation in the future. At least, not in seven months time would I be thinking of doing that.
Exactly and until then another preview might come out or final, so we will eventually upgrade, and I would love to keep this as main OS for now, its much better than Windows8/8.1 together and I was eagerly waiting to upgrade....
I am not insane people tell me, but sometimes I have to ask my friends to find out how I feel! Again, after XP used every Beta and preview as main OS, never serious troubles!
Main OS here. Business as usual. My online gaming is better then with win 8.x. No issues. Not insane. Not the first alpha, beta or preview I have used as a main OS. Yeah 7 months expiration, however I never go 7 months without some form of reinstall so it is a non issue for me.
Because we will be getting build updates every few weeks and the expiration date won't be an issue. And besides, if it's stable then why the hell not?
Yeah main OS on my PC, Forget about VM...Because I want see Windows 10 really works right out of my real PC to make sure they are stable, not recommend to use VM on my PC pointless. I am happy the way Windows 10 handle great on my pc. Steam ok Origin ok BF4 ok most all my current drivers and printer ok. Windows 8 is dead sweep under the rug along with Windows 9 together. 2 cents.
Why not? I used to wipe my machines every two weeks or so; very rarely do I keep the same OS install for even a month. A OS that expires is nothing to me Plus, new features.
I am trying to dual boot windows 8.1 and the TP but am getting an error saying that windows cannot be installed because to format is GPT. I have an asus q500a with a samsung evo 840 ssd. I already have 8.1 installed.
or you can do what i did, and have a extra ssd around and install 10 on that and move 8 drive as second drive and keep all your data and have it accessible.
Like you need more then one OS Well only ones who should not use it as a main OS are those who to stupid to have backups or corporations.
I'm using it as main OS, i did that when 8 betas 1st came out as well...so It's adventures and risky specially because i use it for work (no gaming) , i would think that if you're a gamer and/or do not make backups of your work as you go , you better not , it can simply just stop working and you get locked out of your Computer and work, so if you don't have the know how and capable of retrieving your work and important stuff if that happens , it's kinda insane to do
Using it as my main OS too XD I have imaged backup of my Windows 8.1 so if anything happens I just restore it back but so far so good. I just upgraded from Windows 8.1 for my installed applications (too many). Games is working fine on this tech preview/recording software as well. So far I'm loving the new features of this OS
Um, you guys know that the technical preview has a keylogger right? I probably wouldn't use it as my main OS. Specially for communication and stuff.
