that exactly is the lesson MS had to eat. To bring back an accepted os they only can run it fully loaded, no way around
Would guess they will handle it similiar to Win 8.1 to leave that upgrade path open. Unfortunately it's not supported by the Insider Program so one will stuck with 9841 build. The Pro Preview in VM already detects a new build where the ProWMC was blind .
some "blind" entries might be useful for gettn' hints in the background but it doesn't mean that it will be done that way. Too many examples came along in the past with some disappointments
Much the same for me. Very stable and fast. I found all my programs worked first time with no conflicts.
I gotta' agree on this...Initially I was one of the loudest whiners about the separation of WMC (although I got it free with the promotional pricing of Win8 for $39.99 that Microsoft ran in late '12 & January '13), but being absolutely brutal about it I found I preferred VLC in spades over WMC even though I had not expected that to be the case. So I ate my own crow, in that case...I had built it up as some sort of "completeness" thing within Windows, but it wasn't...! Media Player isn't going anywhere--but like you I think WMC is toast, most likely. Heck--VLC is much better, imo, at least for the things I use it for. So I got WMC for free in the deal and here I am not even using it...figures...
Only problem i had was my network and sound software wouldn't install had to install the drivers by hand.
Usually the pieces of software that cover everything are: Media Monkey - Audio VLC - Video Media Player Class - Video PowerDVD - Bluray movies Sorry Windows Media Center isn't that great. Hell Windows Media Player still doesn't support Flac. And FLAC is a free audio codec they have absolutely no excuse.
i installed it but when it restarted my bios got corrupted and harddisk also doesnt show up on any pc ,donno whether its problem of harddisk or os its solved .its the hdd problem ..all over 10 is too good
I am as well. I let Windows 7 download the preview the night it was released and went to bed early. I must of been tried and not read what what was going on. Instead of waking up to Windows 7 with a Windows 10 installer on my desktop. I just woke up to Windows 10 already installed. I went around my whole day with it installed with plans to remove it when I got home from school/work. Sometime during the day I noticed it was pretty stable and all my apps seemed to be working. It was faster, stable and more friendly than any version of WinDOH's 8 I have every used. So I decided to keep it and so far, for the most part I am happy with it.
Could you believe I haven't come across major issue since I installed Windows 10 Technical Preview as main OS? I am still looking for what will cause major problem though.
l217-V driver from Asus website doesn't work. Haven't tried downloading from Intel's website though the driver Microsoft provided out of the box works just fine.
Yeah Main OS... and I'm considering switching back to windows 8.1 I don't like the start menu, looks simple, poor, no design and poor color. I don't like the app thing there as well.. i really don't want to make my start menu bigger because it will look uglier.. so now i can't add more apps.. so basically it's useless for me.. Secondly the apps for example weather app.. it just doesn't match the window in win 10... it fits only for fullscreen.. without it.. it's not right at all.. Did I like windows 10? Absolutely not.. i like windows 8.1 more... it's just horrible what i'm seeing now. I knew i wouldn't have bugs/problems so I installed it on my main OS.. but it's really a bad thing and a lot of ugly stuff.. some of it is not.. Things I like in windows 10: Add Desktop, start menu icon, the new icon for This PC, the design in taskbar.. it's fine.. was same in windows 8.1 almost too.. I liked the icons they added too.. I don't mine it at all.. Favorites Icon looks better and all of that..
Using it as main O/S. I have an SQL server and use juniper connections. A few errors, but no crashes.... YET
The only issue I have had is not MS problem but soundblaster sound card. It works most of the time, but a few issues with it, how it detects speakers and all, and every now and then sound will cut out, or completely be gone, until a restart.
Late to this thread. Been using W10TP as main OS since the first day of its release. No major issues so far. Only had issues with mounting ISOs with PowerISO resulting in "Incorrect Function" and some game giving me "Out of Range" errors. Overall its a good experience so far.
