Hi every1, Using it at the moment as my main (Windows) OS I am using WinX TP Enterprise in To Go mode Have been using it in various systems and booting this from USB/eSATA and SATA, with no major issues! NOTE: Be aware that you have to do some (little) tweaking to use it as WTG and be able to boot it the way i do!
Very true. I was so excited about the Vista betas. So much had changed and they were worlds ahead of what XP was. I never understood all the Vista hate. There were so many UI improvements that once I got used to I couldn't go back to XP. The new start menu search alone got me hooked. Also, at the time I was using my computer as a DVR and was using WinTV's crappy software where I could only schedule recordings by time and channel (like a VCR). The Vista betas introduced me to Media Center where I actually had guide listing and would record based on new episodes. That sealed the deal for me. Never looked back.
I surely will! Just doing so further testing. I just wanna be sure that the tweaks are indeed the ones that needs to be applied!
yes i installed 10041 as my main os after trying it on virtual box i am really liking it.I havent had any issues on 64 bit runs my games even my emsisoft antivirus my printer all in all seems good
I'm running 10041 64-bit as my desktop main OS. Had 9926 before and updated. Now, this machine is really ancient and Win 10 had no issue with it. I mean, CPU Intel Dual Core E7600, 4 GB DDR2, GPU HD3850 AGP, X-Fi Xtreme Music, Tv tunner K-world that shouldn run on anything beyond XP... but I managed to have everything running smooth on Windows 10! I even managed to install AMD Catalyst to control video card settings. The only issue is that f*$# tiledatamodelsvc service that keeps CPU on 30% most of the time (sorted out by modifying registry and killed service). So yea, Windows 10 on an old rig running just fine, but I guess I'll go back soon to Win 7 or Win 8.1, since there will be too many TP releases in the next couple of months and upgrading OS on every 2 weeks will kill the SSD with tons of writing, just to have a new version with more bugs and uglier icons. Well, to be hones, it can't be uglier that 10041. Moreover, testing OS versions means lots of RAM, CPU and bandwidth allocated to troubleshoot and report to Microsoft.
I did the update too 9926 to 10041 : 10041 seems better : - faster and without display bugs - before login i found my two user accounts, one was lost on 9926 But i cant use safe mode got the same error code, Why ? Anyway to fix that bug ?
What's the error code you got there? On my machines, 9926 was more stable than 10041, but that's just on my end.
Been getting this error for several builds in Win 10 TP explorer.exe unknown hardware...my workaround has been to make sure to add the desktop tool bar to my taskbar. So I can access what I need in safe mode. Taksbar---->Properties------>Toolbars---->check Desktop Then when you boot into safe mode use the Desktop toolbar to access anything you need on your system. PS I have a guess as to what is causing it...but not sure...I believe it either USB 3.0 controller or an ASMedia Controller, but I confess I am not sure...and not worried about it since I figured out a workaround for the Win TP.
I'm using it for about a week, 10041. I'm mostly gaming, 2 issues i have observed which are kinda annoying. First, sometimes in games FPS gets capped at 30 FPS and GPU is not switching to 3d clocks which causes really bad stuttering and low FPS generally. Restarting game doesn't fix it, only computer restart. Secondly when i'm shutting down my computer, it shuts down and then starts itself after 2-3 seconds. Basically i have to shut it down twice. Besides that i haven't encountered any issues, all drivers etc. installed and working just fine.
I used Windows 10 TP for about a month, my impressions of it are alright at the moment. There are quite a few bugs, and glitches. I have since went back to Windows 8.1, but overall I just hope Microsoft listens to consumer feedback.
