I'd say I'd trust this tool more than some random thing posted on some blog or floating around on the internet...
Indeed an excellent tool. I wonder how long it takes MS to react in some way (Windows Update? legal actions?)...
Before I used O&O I deactivated many things manually like telemetry, cortana, peer to peer update. By the install.wim tweak method and windows privacy options. When I run O&O it say these things are still active! Is O&O lying or are the instructions in the main Telemetry Thread wrong?
same here but it seems the Telemetry, Windows Feedback, etc. are integrated so deep into the OS that just changing a setting isn't enough. O&O does it all for you. I trust it, coming from a Microsoft Partner and having used their O&O Defrag Pro 18 for a while, their software is of high quality.
lol, I've blocked so many MS IPs and domains I can't get in to check if there is even a cert, but register yourself, you'll see what it gives you
Yea, just useless junk really lol The point I was making, was for J-Lawrence, just because there is a MS Partner logo on a software site, doesn't mean jack, I could create a malware hosting site and stick a MS Partner logo on it too
Going in the new settings panel reactivates some options, some feedback options at the very least, so go figure what else does the same thing. Also, some people are complaining in the W10 Feedback app that Windows 10 keeps reverting settings set using the group policy...
Kinda sad, you'd think they'd have some kind of quality control with checking certs or at the least having strict regs as to where they allow it.
I thought manually using install.wim tweak to remove packages is as "balls deep" as it can get, O&O is saying otherwise if it can be trusted. I searched around and see no reason to distrust O&O, surely if it was lying some bright spark here will have reported it already?
