If I am right, Apple do not sell licensing for Airplay to be used by anybody else But one can find vendors selling products that support Airplay2 (full video/audio/mirroring) How do they do it? I assume they crack/decrypt Airplay on cloud servers (https://api.vivi.io/handshake/ ) Does the wording gives it away? "Routines for decrypting AirPlay streams" One such vendor is Vivi.io selling boxes from SolidRun running Vivi Box Server One can get firmware from here, it opens nicely with 7-zip. Most exciting bits are in image\root\ Seems that years ago it was a project on Github (but no longer!) Code: https://github.com/ViviRnD/Documentation/blob/master/box/README.md sebus
Wait, aren't the API and underlying codebase available to third parties? https://www.macworld.com/article/32...ow-it-works-and-which-devices-support-it.html https://9to5mac.com/2017/11/15/airplay-2-details-availability/
Yes, the audio part, why there are receivers from ie Denon that have Airplay build in But not video/mirroring
