thanks atari i use je jin dism tool hmm is also 64 bit tool ? for x64 updates ? rrohela i dont use audit cos i dont know what is it and what is use is not for amaters hmm missing only 9 updates maybe it will also be integrated ? without this for defender, browser choice and malic. software tool
@Atari800XL I decided to integrated updates in install.wim coz most of time manual update failed to install. So check twice before sysprep for installed & failed Updates.
I used audit mode too but first integrated updates in original iso's WIM & then installed the OS to sysprep. At moment solutions provided by MS to correct update problems are not working & its best to integrate them before install.
I need tutorial on this "how to's" from you. How to use& multiboot grub4dos WinPESE, WinPE4, PEXPLive, Acronis, Ghost and more.. You can PM me or start a new thread on it.
Hmm, better to take it 1 step at a time. What do you need first? I guess PE4 (it has DISM for W8). Building a PE4 is not too hard. Once you have that ISO, you can put in on a USB drive, together with Acronis.iso. To boot them both from the same USB, you need Grub4dos. Not too hard if somebody tells you how to do it. You could open a thread "How to create a PE4 to use on a multiboot thumbdrive". Actually, my PE4 is a bit customized, with nice big console fonts, XYplorer as filemanager, TCCLE as commandprompt, Autohotkey to launch stuff with a single shortcutkey (since there's no desktop at all), etc. etc. I'm afraid this is all a bit involved, and it would take me a week to explain this.... So one step at a time, please!!!
Thank you 100, very much appreciated. If it wasn't for your very clear instructions (and the commanding look in Shatner's eyes), I would have given up days ago Well, I just had to ask... Probably better to (try to) build it myself. Downloading might be easier in some cases, but making it yourself is a lot more fun and educational, anyway... Thanks for the DART tips, I'm certainly going to try that. Right now, I'm using WinPE_SE and a self-built PE4 with some extra tools, but I've heard good things about DART (after all, it's the official solution), and with these easy instructions, there's no reason *not* to include it. But before I start my DART project, I have to have a clear picture of what I have at this moment: (1) Original MSDN isos of W8Ent32, W8Ent64, Pro32Retail, Pro64Retail (2) DISM treatment on all 4: Add NetFX3, remove Metro appx's. Store these 4 base wim files in a safe place ("Base") (3) Install all 4 in audit mode, run online update (several times!) (4) Store the 4 updated base wim files ("Base updated"). Repeat (3) and (4) when needed (5) Create multiwim: Export W8Ent32, add ProWMC32 for general use, add ProWMC32 with data.dat and preinstalled key for my desktop, add ProWMC32 with preinstalled key for my laptop, add Ent64, Add ProWMC64 for general use, add ProWMC64 with data.dat and preinstalled key for my desktop (laptop don't run no ProWMC64). And there we have it... Now on to DART!!! [EDIT: First I added the modified data.dat for ProWMC in step (2), but then Sysprep didn't work, and I didn't understand why. Turns out I didn't realize how tied-in syspep is with data.dat!!! So I have to do the updates **first** (step 2), and add modified data.dat (and ProWMC conversion) in step 5!!!!) That killed a few hours....]
Thanks BTOR, I was just editing my post. Turns out I added the modified data.dat too early in the process!! Sorry, didn't know systprep was so tied-in with activation etc!!! Lesson learned!!! (And time wasted). [I'm now at image 3, it's capturing at max compress now, only W8Pro64 left now, then on to integrating all in 7-in-1, including the darned data.dat).
