Could Windows Server 2019 be converted to Azure Stack HCI? It is based on Server 2019.

Though based on 17763.1 Server 2019, yet different Version 17784.1068 (neither 17763.1 + LCU, nor 17784.1 + LCU.), different Activation Technology.

When enabling app compatiblity and editing registry it is possible to use explorer.exe as a shell in Azure Stack HCI. Sadly without Metro it is pretty useless, no start menu or anything else.

Could you please show some screenshots? I still can't get it. (Never mind if you are not available. I am just curious.)

Converting Azure Stack HCI to full Server GUI OS is pretty much impossible, I tried with packages from UUP dump, result was only a black screen.

I am not exactly sure, but removing AlternateShells value from winlogon registry after installing app compatibility gives desktop after restart.

Q1: Which one is your status now, a or b?

    a. I tried with packages from UUP dump, result was only a black screen.
    b. removing AlternateShells value from winlogon registry after installing app compatibility gives desktop after restart.

Q2: What is app compatibility? The one that allows limited 32bit applications, and IE? (If yes, no, it's impossible.)
