Hey guys! I've been away from the forum for a long time and I would like your opinion on a question, as I would like to know if there is any chance of building or rebuilding a version that would make it possible to use an old Samsung notebook that has an AMD Dual-processor. core 1.3Ghz and 6 gigs of DDR3 memory which my sister only needs to use to do business school work, using Office and some basic programs. Which Windows would be light enough to run this productively in your opinion? Thanks in advanced. Best Regards. @JeepWillys58
was not the main point of it just to make quicker edit: as i said to make server 2025 when it released with same method
Would be way more interesting, if you would be able to add UI to 25398 ServerDatacenterCore, changing it to ServerDatacenter - especially understanding that both exist in LCUs
To be fair 1.3 Ghz was slow even the day of the notebook was released. I'm typing Right now from a 2007 notebook with a turion X2, and it works wonderfully using anything from XP to Win11 25398. BUT It had a 1.6Ghz CPU that I replaced with a 2GHz one It had a PATA HDD, that is replaced with a mSata SSD (+ a PATA 2 mSATA adapter) It had 512MB of ram, now it has 4GB It had a 54mbps WIFI card, now it has a 2.5/5gh AC one capable of 866MBps All the above upgrades are cheap ones in the 10/20$ ballpark, I really suggest to do the same if you really want to get anything useful of your PC. No matter the OS you're going to use.
should get GUI working with adding those packages to ServerDatacenterCor mum: Code: <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Desktop-Required-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Runlevel-Win4-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Runlevel-Win4-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Runlevel-Win4-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Runlevel-Win4-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Features-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Features-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Features-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Client-Features-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-EditionPack-Professional-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-EditionPack-Professional-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-EditionPack-Professional-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-EditionPack-Professional-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-RegulatedPackages-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-RegulatedPackages-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-RegulatedPackages-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-RegulatedPackages-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Not-Supported-On-LTSB-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Not-Supported-On-LTSB-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Not-Supported-On-LTSB-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Not-Supported-On-LTSB-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Required-ShellExperiences-Desktop-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Required-ShellExperiences-Desktop-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> <update name="Microsoft-Windows-Required-ShellExperiences-Desktop-WOW64-Package"> <package contained="false" integrate="hidden"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Required-ShellExperiences-Desktop-WOW64-Package" version="10.0.25398.1" processorArchitecture="amd64" language="neutral" buildType="release" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> </package> </update> if not change the shell in hive software...winlogon also need modified lang pack for client
Thank you my friend for responding. You are always willing to help, and that is what really matters in a person. The big problem here is that the processor is soldered onto its motherboard, I have already replaced the original 1 GB memory with a 2 GB stick and a 4 GB stick, the sata HDD with a Sata SSD to improve performance but as it is not possible to change the processor, I was wondering if it would be possible for a core version to run on it without much crashing... I tried 25398.531_x64_pt-BR_EnterpriseS that I managed to create with the help of everyone here, but it is still too heavy to work satisfactorily.
The lightest Windows is still Win8 (or even better Embedded 8 Standard), use x86 not AMD64. Or just drop Windows altogether and use Q4OS the TDE (trinity) flavour, it amazing isn't bloated like most 202x Linux distros, and its Trinity OS environment is way better than any current hideous Gnome 4x, KDE 5/6 and alike.
This is what you need to download: Code: ServerDatacenterCore_en-us.esd uupdump.net/findfiles.php?id=164292dd-776a-4152-89e0-a68438e82e01&q=ServerDatacenterCore_en-us.esd+ Use this command to get needed install.wim: Code: Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:C:\ServerDatacenterCore_en-us.esd /SourceIndex:3 /DestinationImageFile:C:\install.wim /Compress:LZX

Isn't there the possibility of something other than Win8? Unfortunately, I couldn't find the software approved by Brazilian public bodies in any Linux that she will need to use, so it really has to be Windows...
Already found that in the files list for Windows Server, version 23H2 (25398.1) amd64 and currently doing the reconstruction with the install wim from index 3
What's wrong with Win8? Just install classic shell and it's on e of the greatest Windows ever. Other than that, you can use Win 8.1/LTSB 2015/2016, but Win8/Embeded8/Server2012 is still lighter. We say it's hard to have both the full barrel and the drunk wife On Q4OS you can install Wine with a couple of clicks, and launch windows programs just clicking on them. Then it depends on how much complicated those SW are, and if they do strict controls on Windows version. The only way to tell is to try
You're right my friend, I completely forgot about the solution of replacing the Win8 menu with the classic shell... I'll try, but it's difficult to find it in the PT-BR language, any tips on where to download it? I really haven't done any research into whether the software does any Windows version control. They are the state's software for accounting for company and employee taxation. I'll try too. Thank you again for your generous help. Kind Regards. @JeepWillys58
I don't really want to leave anything on the windows servers. I know KMS activation works on 26100.1 so it should work here too. The only thing left to try is to use an untouched file of 25398.1_ServerDatacenterCor_to_Client_amd64.7z
It's deadly simple. SKUwitch to IoT 26100 (it's strongly suggested for other reasons anyway), then insert the proper key, then activate with masgravell.
