For those interested, here is PPEditor 1.5. It's been a few years out of dev. Also whoever (someone from MDL) updated it to be more functional did not include souce code, while v1.3 or 1.4 was open source.

You mean, that no way to make HotPatch work inside Hyper-V VM?
Don't care much about physical, - but it might work in Hyper-V VM on top of AzureStackHCI cluster with active subscruption, right?

I don't understand why, but after second reboot in my case it is reset.
1) I shut down VM and mount VHDX offline to my system
2) I use PPE 1.5, load offline registry, Modify value, save registry, unload offline registry
3) I modify the EnterpriseG-ppdlic.xrm-ms, changing only "zh-CN" for "ru-RU"
4) I add Language Pack offline via DISM, detach VHDX, boot VM
5) I can now select Russian UI and log off/log on to see it.
But if I run PPE online, I see "zh-CN; en-US" and after reboot my UI is back to English. xrm-ms file is still modified, so data is rewritten not from it.
Why?

xinso, can you give some comments on what we are now discussing, about changing PPolicy to allow different language packs on G? Your opinion is valuable!
In my case the settings I configure via PPE are working well on first boot, but after it's reset to default "zh-CN;en-US"
What do I need to change, so my changes remain?

And Q2: Is it possible to change PPolicyOptons in install.wim, so it installs with already changed? Speaking about G only, where SPP service is disabled by default.

1. No. You have to disable Spp service manually.

You haven't commented an idea about creating a modified language pack, editing MUMs, keeping, for example, zn-CN in header and ru-RU inside for manifests and other resources.
I have asked twice, but haven't seen your response, if any.
Is that a solvable task?

 

This will probably confuse apps you use and they will show zh-CN by default.

If OS is shutting down after an hour, - not worthy for sure.

They haven't replied. The only discussion came into PPE, which I was against from the beginning.
Don't know if you already tried an approach of modifiable LP, but probably you have thought about it and have opinion, worth or not.
If changing PP gives me shutdown each hour, I am not even evaluating it anymore, - so would love to hear if some other approach can solve it?
