Teacher @xinso - again I seek your guidance In [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\the version which is installed Visibility has a value of 1 and all sub packages has a value of 2 What does Visibility mean in this context ? I'm trying to find out what tells dism OK I'm the correct version installed go ahead and update me What does dism scan on the installed system before looking to the upgrade SSU and LCU ? The result of these findings will have tremendous potential - it means that all servers can be updated normally without any custom updates - it is not a simple SKU switch but an entire client package can be installed and server can continue its normal update - in brief it will have server as the heart and client as its skin thanks
I Agree whole heartedly with you Skylined. It would be a phenomenal improvement to the reconstruction program as a whole.
Except few packages, e.g. ServicingStack which is "permenent", all other packages listed with this command can be removed directly. Why? Their Visibility value is 1. Code: dism /image:%DriveLetter% /get-packages
As I tried to explain couple of weeks agio, if you first use your favorite 1.xml method to install packages with modified edition, than replace MUM back replace registry of edition to original and + remove parent of edition from customly added packages, they won't be uninstalled on upgrade. Tested, works.
I don't get it, why would you just want to update server package, when it's client package that are being used when the system is running. If UserExperience-Desktop-Package is not updated when server is, you will have just a black screen, at boot.
i try to learn something waiting for your 20348 new much easier script with working store modifying old script i've integrated (with dependencies of course) store 22407 msixbundle version - it doesn't run. 12107 appxbundle version runs, tries to update and closes. 11811 appxbundle was left to test. both 12107 and 11811 have eappxbundle also, but i can't integrate them, because they are encrypted. update: 11811 doesn't run also
