Anyone actually got this working on a Windows 8.1 32bit tablet?
I Just both the new Toshiba Encore 8 and i think i have tried everything but nothing works.
I have tried the different programs and hack the termsrv manuely but it just won't connect. Right now i have to live with Teamviewer and i hate relying on a service like that.

Just to clarify i am not a noob so that's not the problem

I think there's something wrong with the detection of the Windows 8.1 x86 termsrv.dll file. I just recently did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 x86 Pro (Volume License) and then installed all the windows updates. The md5 hash of my termsrv.dll file matches the hash that is listed in this thread. But when I run this patcher tool it says that the file is unsupported. I manually replaced the termsrv.dll file with the one you linked above and it works. Also I ran the batch script on my file and the hash did not match the one you linked to above. Thanks for your work on this.

I just tried out Beta 2 on my Windows 8.0 Pro x64 VL and it didn't work either. This time it did recognize the termsrv.dll file as being legitimate but when I press the patch button i see the cmd window flash but the patcher still shows the file unpatched. I restarted the patcher tool (and pc) and it still shows the file as unpatched. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right... running patcher as admin.

    Update:
Ok so the problem with the Win 8.0x64 Pro machine is a permissions issue. I can see the temporary patched files being made but the patcher can't overwrite the original from some reason. I can't manually delete/overwrite the termsrv.dll file either which is strange. I didn't have that issue with my win 8.1 x86 computer.

    Need a little help.

    Hey everyone,

I'm having a hard time getting the patch to work. I just got a new Windows 8.1 machine. I'm not sure what build it is. I've tried following all of the directions I could find to do the patch, but it just isn't working for this machine.

The tool says that it worked and patched the files. But when I reboot I can't access the remote desktop configurations.

Does it only work on windows 8.1 pro?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a bunch,
    Gary

Find the "experimental" version 3 beta in this thread, it has the newer version patch you'll need.

    dumb question time.

I have a home file server that runs Win8. It has only one user account, and my wife and I RDP into at times. Obviously with the stock termsrv.dll we can not log into that same user account at the same time without kicking the other person off.

Will this modified termsrv.dll allow multiple users to log into the SAME user account at the same time?

Wanted to report success with a little modification on the version 2 patcher.

Running Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation on VMWare ESXi.

It detected my version and created the patch with no problems but seemed to be struggling with permissions even though I was the owner and gave my account full access to termsrv.dll.
All I had to do was delete or move the old file out of System32 and manually rename termsrv.dll.patch to termsrv.dll.

After a reboot, everything is working. Thanks for all the hard work guys.

Do I need to run the beta release 2.exe first or can I just patch registry directly?

    Thanks

Could someone please explain these steps?

    1 - Disable Reg
    2 - Click on Manual
3 - Navigate to the system32 folder (if the explorer window doesn't open in the system32 folder) and delete termsrv.dll.patch.
    4 - ??

When do I click on "Enable Patch?"

I am having problems, and I thinking I am not following the correct sequence.

    Thanks

the enable button should/does everything in one button push. most users do not need the other buttons, but they are there in case anyone has any issues and has to do things manually.

Has anybody tried it on Update1? Does Update1 changes .dll version at all?

    Thanks

    1,2,3 not it.

EDIT: But I've heard the termsrv.dll is identical, so probably it will work.

Thanks. I guess it's just not working for me. I am Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
