I've read about the PQSERVICE partition on many forums now but it seems to apply to laptops. I have an Aspire T320 desktop who's hard drive crashed. After installing another drive the recovery disks take me in circles! They copy the files (so it says) ask for the next disk, copies more files then says remove disk and press any key to restart. Then it goes back to the install screen again, starts copying more files then says "Can't find this file, Enter to try again. Escape to skip, or F3 to quit" Well, quitting is my only option. I can press Enter a hundred times and it won't find the files. Is this PQSERVICE partition supposed to be on the Desktop pc's too. Acer wants $2.00 per minute to chat with a minimum of $60.00...WOW! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wally
Just make yourself an OEM Acer CD & re-install Windows Or install VLK Windows & then change with the VLK to OEM changer Will be quicker then messing with restore partition etc (and you will get rid of any c**pware they installed in first place) sebus sebus
You say hard drive crashed do you mean totally scr*wed did it boot at all ? could it be seen in bios ? if so you should have tried some HD recovery programs first i,e spinrite or hddregenerator and if you get it to boot into windows then image your drive with say acronis trueimage for example then swap Hard drives over.
