ASUS P5E - SLIC 2.1 BIOS Mod

Hi, I have a ASUS N51Vf laptop and I was wondering if these same bios will work with it so that I could get the upgrade.

Also if not the same bios, maybe the same technique using the HP slics?

One last important question, if something goes wrong in the bios flash like my bios rejecting the hp slics or it not working, is there a way for me to revert back to the original bios? Or is my laptop dead?

Ok I'm gonna have to find out how to do that, but what if these bios are wrong or don't work?

Is my computer screwed and there is no reverting back to working ones?

 

You can sometimes recover a bad flash, sometimes not.

Its always risky flashing a BIOS.

 

I have the same mobo and modded the 1201 bios with Dell's SLIC 2.1. Working great.

 

Ok thanks for you input Junki. It is very risky, and I hate vista and would like to take the risk but still unsure.

Am I able to activate using the product key released? I heard there is not yet an OEM product key leaked so people still can't activate it.

Thanks, I did. I successfully activated Windows 7. I hope that the code is not blacklisted by microsoft
