Maybe you should try reverting your bios back to the orginal asus one first, then after that re-flash the reverted bios with your asus modded bios. Seems to me it is just a matter of different settings are used when modding with Award Tool. And no, thee is no _ASUS_DESKTOP slic (even on original Asus desktop systems this is _ASUS_Notebook)
