Hello! I've been playing with Arne Fitzenreiter's ATASX mod for a while - managed to make it run from a flashed PCI-E ethernet card. However, it turns out that it doesn't support UHCI, which is a shame - there's an unpleasant performance hit from picking IDE mode (well, for SDDs anyway ) Unfortunately, I lack skills needed to add UHCI support to ATASX and/or making a brand new UEFI mod which would support that. So, basically, I'm just throwing this idea out so that, mayhaps, someone more skilled will become interested and will create a way to enable ATA security extensions without sacrificing UHCI support... With increasing number of decent self-encrypting SDDs becoming available, it could be definitely useful.
