    Ok I understand with the Orbit30 stuff and frankly I would stay away from it lol. If you get a modded bios it will have the slic 2.1 inserted and yes all you have to do then is insert the key and cert manually or use Daz's loader in advanced mode to insert that stuff for you. I know for sure that even slic 2.0 will not be in your bios unless your computer/motherboard came with an OEM copy of Vista. As far as making the modded bios it is really easy to do but whereas it is rare you can get a flash issue and it may brick your motherboard. This is a rare caution for any bios type flashing though not just modded ones. If you wish I can make you an asus bios mod but I need to know the link to the original bios along with the bios type. Like AMI, Award or Phoenix. If you are uncomfortable with this you can always try Daz's loader to emulate slic much like the Orbit30 one did. Daz's loader works as of now even with WAT! Bios mod is a more sturdy way to go though once you get past the initial flashing part.

    Good morning Sam,

    I flashed the bios and it rebooted, AMI Bios message said "please enter set up to recover Bios setting
    (1) Press F1 to run set up
    (2) Press F2 to load default values & continue

    I choose F2 and Windows rebooted. I used Daz loader V1.7.7 and insert Asus key & Certificate. Daz loader showed Asus Slic. After I inserted Asus certitificate & key through advanced mode of Daz 1.7.7 loader, windows was not activated and it showed 29 days left to activate. I immediately run the Slic tool kit and it showed no Slic. Slic Status: Dump error! What happened? Do we have a bad flash ? Is it recoverable? What do we do next? Can we re-flash bios again or you can do me a new one? Windows is not going to activate without Slic 2.1.

    I hope F2 is the correct selection.

    I went into my Bios set up page (Bios Setup Utility), under Tools tab, there is an Asus EZ Flash 2 when high-ligthed, it says Press enter to run the utility to select and update Bios. This utility supports:
    (1) FAT 12/16/32 (r/w)
    (2) NTFS (read only)
    (3) CD-Disc (read only)
    I know I have to run that to really flash (update) the bios right? Any advanced guidance you can give me before I run it? I thought the Asus utiltiy will just run and flash the Bios it for us.
    Is it as simple as following the screen instructions? Kindly advise.

    I am not 100% sure, it should work. If you like I can make you bios mod too dude. Just give me the original bios link that you want me to mod for you. The only thing I can think of is the one you tried was a bad mod or something like that. BTW EZ Flash 2 works basically the same way as the update tool that I gave you only that one runs in dos instead of windows. It is safer to use but the other tool is way easier to use.

    @sofatiger51: Here is your bios mod with Asus slic 2.1 and a matching asus cert. Make sure to check with slic dump toolkit to make sure that this one is good. BTW I would try to use EZ Flash this time but if it is too confusing then just flash it the same way as you did before. This one should work. Let me know what happens.

    Hi Sam,

    I need a consultation before I proceed because I want to to do it right this time. Your Bios mod folder contains:
    (1) Matching Asus Cert for my specific bios
    (2) 1B.BIN file
    (3) ASUS-P6T-DELUXE-V2.ROM
    (4) Instruction Note

    I will put the ASUS-P6T-DELUXE-V2.ROM & 1B.BIN file in a folder for ASUS bios update tool to run it to flask the MB with new modded Bios. Matching Asus Cert must also be included in the folder or it is for me to insert it manually with Asus key after the Slic2.1 table is inserted properly. Kindly confirm so that I can proceed correctly.

    FYI, I will use the windows based Asus bios update utility you provided me the other day. I cannot use ASUS EZ flash 2 because I am zero on DOS.

    the 1b.bin is not needed that is module that is extracted with mmtool and slic is added to it or that could be unmodded 1.b.bin just forget it and use the ASUS-P6T-DELUXE-V2.ROM file with bios flash program personally i would do it from dos. and rename it to say bios.rom.

    @ Urie
    @SAM3971

    I have to be very honest with you guys that I have zero knowledge about DOS program. I am good in math & science in University but boy I flanked big time in DOS. Having said, I am willing to give it a try. Is there a DOS 101 for me to study only if DOS 101 will enable me to flash this BIOS in DOS. Otherwise, I have to use the ASUS windows based utility. Honestly, I have been reading up at ASUS forum in flashing BIOS, I have the impression that DOS is the best method to do it successfully.

    @Urie,

    In my Bios Setup Utiltity page under tools tab, there is a new folder called ASUS EZ Flash 2. When highlighted, it said press enter to to select and update your BIOS. I don't know DOS as I said and I did not dare to hit enter because I may end up not knowing what to do next. I also have the impression that once I hit enter, I have to selct and give instruction to write falsh file into USB drive as file (14MB for P6T bios) is too big for diskette. Then you have to flask through reboot. I have 2 problems with that. The main one is I am illiterate to DOS. Number 2, I have no floppy disk drive and my bios does not show possible boot from USB. I don't know why. I am starting to doubt Asus MB now.

    I guess I only option is to try with ASUS windows based utility ad hope it works this time. Any idea or suggestion? Can it be booted through CD Rom? Kindly advise.

    @SAM3971,

    Thanks for your help, kindness and patience. I am frustrated because I am almost there but I am there yet.

    Update:

    I have found a a step-by-step procedure for using EZ Flash at Asus support website. Question:
    I conducted BIOS mod flash yesterday and Bios mod file is store at MB BIOS Setup Utility page under tools tab. Should I use that one or re-flash with? Please advise.
    Thanks
