Hi Sam, Good to hear from you. Is EVGA Nvidia GTX 260 video card which I have is also a PCI-e video card?
Most likely. Is it a physical card or one that you cannot see? If you can see it then it is a PCI-E card. If not then it is an onchip but I would bet that it is a PCI-E card dude.
Hey is there going to be an update? For the last 2 months or so you have been telling us that there will be an update but it is still the same version. I would much like to have Server 2008 r2 support if possible soon.
Hi Sam, You have a good sense of humor. EVGA NVIDIA GTX 260 is a big sucker almost bigger than the MB. I hardly can see the MB from side panel. After flushing BIOS, I will go in set up to make sure that on-board video is not interfering with my video card performance. Thanks for your help.
@sofatiger51: Yea I was pretty sure it was an PCI-E card but hell, I did not know if you have a desktop or a laptop lol. Good luck. @hazar: you may actually be surprised as to what they can do with portable onchip video in expensive laptops. My friend has a laptop with 2 geforce 9800 GTX's in it and they are onchip. Now where I thought sofatiger51 had a PCI-E version I still wanted to make sure cause I really did not know lol. Hell someone has to be here to make you laugh once in awhile
well they are not physical cards either. They are build into the motherboard somehow. I just assumed they were onchip versions.
Hi Sam, I completed the BIOS Update and it asked me to re-start. What is the DOS command for re-start. @NoJuan999 Anyone? CRTL-ALT-Detele?
You aswered yourself. Or you can use reset button, or just switch power off & then back on I would never believe somebody could ask such question.... sebus
Hi, Maybe you should believe it. I am absolutely zero knowledge on DOS. Anyways, my wild guess happened to be the right comannd.
Hi Sam, Slic 2.1 table is successfully installed (Asus Notebook). I posted SLIC screen shots. My PC is desktop. I hope it is O.K. I have to re-install windows 7 because Office 2010 RTM Escrow locked me out even I took ownership of the Office program. Worst, it would not let me unistall. Without email, I am a sitting duck. Is it O.K. for me to clean re-install Windows 7 first and then perform manual insertion of ASUS certificate & Asus key to activate my windows 7? Kindly confirm.
Dude, since your bios is established no re-insatll will affect it so re-install is ok. If you need good working 2007 office let me know...lol
@timesurfer, Thanks for your confirmation. It is very kind of you to offer Office 2007. I have a retail copy and therefore, I am good. Once again, thanks for your kind offer. FYI, Office 2010 RTM 32bit works very well and I am impressed with new tools in 2010. The 32bit Office 2010 I activated it using BETA Pkey & dat file. My X64 is more troublesome. I activated it through KMS method. It owrks for 3 days and shut me out with message no permission to run or something like that. Even after I took ownership of the Offcie 2010, I was still locked out. It would not let me uninstall Office 2010. My only option is to re-install Windows 7. I have another more urgent problem. My BIOS posted CPU over temperature message. Therefore, I think I should send my computer back to manufacturer for repair first before I do any more. I will wipe the disk clean before I send it back. Re-installation should be after PC manufacturer repair the CPU over temperature.
Dude, that might just be a bios error and even if it is not an error you can fix it yourself. I had to fix that numerous times. Just go buy something called "Thermal Grease" in the CPU/FAN section at most electronic stores and take your CPU heatsink off, clean it up and apply the grease to it, then reseat the heatsink and you should get normal temp readouts unless that error was a false possitive.
