Check your bios settings and SATA cable connection. If your not sure what to do in the bios, look at the bottom of the screen. There is usually a F key that will load system defaults- select that and try again. If it's a Laptop, prop it up off the table with CD cases or something. Some are very prone to overheating when stressed.

    Hi Sam,

It is not that easy. I have the following cooling for my CPU:
FAN: XtremeGear HP-1216X Five Heatpipes Direct Core Contact Copper Heatsink CPU Cooling Fan (Extreme Silent at 20dBA & Overclock Proof) (Extreme Silent at 20dBA & Overclock Proof)(Venom Boost Extreme OC Certified)

More sophisticated s**t, more trouble. How can I fix it myself? My CPU is Core i7 930. Cyberpower PC is where I bought my computer from. They are a problem for me. 2-3 weeks into my new computer last Ocotber, the expensive video card EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 busted. I had to send it back for replaceent. Now CPU over temperature is not false positive. ASUS P6T DELUXE V2 MB had hardware monitoring and it shows high temperature (78-85 Centigrade). You can definitely boil water with that.

Windows 7 blue screen could be attributed to CPU over temperature according to Microsoft Windows 7 forum especially with Asus MB. The activation of Windows 7 has to be performed after computer CPU over temperature is fixed. CyberPower PC is where I bought my computer from. Here is why I am mad at CyberPower PC. I have a Apevia case and it has CPU monitoring gauge in front. That gauge is not accurate it said 86 Fahr/26 C. I wonder where they put the temperature sensor. Instead of the CPU Fan case, they attached it in their rear end I guess. I have to trust MB message on CPU over temperature.

Sam, if I have a simple Intel CPU fan, sure I will go out and buy the high therm grease or gel and reseal and reseat CPU. But I have a complicated one that turn out to be more trouble. CPU over temperature happens when they replaced the video card for me.

Thank you very much for your help. I was looking for something in the blue screen but I ddi not see anything at all. Otherwise, I would have try anything that I can see.

The blue screen in Windows 7, I can only see the arrow of the mouse. That all I saw. I did not see F key in the blue screen. I Google the blue screen and found Microsoft Windows 7 Forums, It said it maybe due to CPU over temperature. I have been having sever CPU over temperature. I dare not turn on my computer any more. If you see my other thread. What puzzeld me is that blue screen can be attributed to CPU over temperature especially computer with Asus MB. Windows won't start? Why?

Ok relax, it sounds like your CPU is overheating really bad. Shut the computer off emmediately if you have not already done so you could damage the CPU. This error you are getting is probably because the CPU is shutting down because the high temps. Ok I read more of your issue and I am sure that it is a CPU issue. Kinda odd you are having this much issues at 78-85 degrees Celcius, mine ran up to 101 Degrees Celcius and worked fine but that is a Core2Duo. Ok for this to work you have to very carefully remove the CPU fan and heatsink from the CPU once it has cooled. Clean it off with a soft cloth or napkin/paper towel, then clean the CPU with a paper towel to get rid of all the excess resedue from the CPU. Then apply the thermal grease in thin coat over the entire CPU and then reseat the fan/heatsink carefully and fasten it down. If you did it correctly You should notice significant temp reduction in the bios hardware monitor page. If it is still getting too hot maybe your fan is not on it tight enough, personally I have a fan that came with my CPU and occasionally it comes loose because of those stupid plastic pins that hold it on so maybe try pressing the fan into the cpu with your hand while watching the temp meter. If that is the case you will see double digit reduction in less then a minute like in my case. If you are too scared to do this yourself you can always take it into a repair shop but I see it as, if you can do it yourself why pay someone to do it for you! Hope this helps.

Computer has been shut down since Windows 7 would not start installation. After my BIOS flashing, in the boot sequence, I lost boot from removable device. It was replaced by floppy disk drive which I don't have. Do you know what happened? May be I should load default?

It probably loaded defaults automatically and it is set to add the floppy by default. Just go into your bios and disable the "1.44 something?" and you should be set dude. Just disable the floppy drive from within the bios to remove it. My MoBo sets it on by default too and I don't have one either so I have to remove that. Also change the boot sequence back to how you liked it so you can get the removable devices booted up too. It is a simple adjustment, just look in your bios dude.

    Hi Sam.

    Good morning and Happy Easter.

I managed to re-install windows 7. I Google search Windows 7 blue screen after loading windows files and found someone has the same situation and all it needed was patience. Wait for 10-15 minutes and it will installed. Mine took 7 minutes.

But I was not able to insert certificate successfully. This is what I did. I copy and paste Asus certificate into C:\root. Certificate was provided by NoJuan999 in the package together with the BIOS MOD and instruction to create bootable USB drive.

Run CMD as adminstrator C:\windows\system32\>slmgr -ilc C:\Asus.rms-ms. After I hit enter, I got the following error message:

Windows Script Host [Windows showing following error message]
"On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a OXBBA to dispaly the error text.
    Error: OXBBA"

I have no clue what it is. Any idea where I gone wrong? Run in safe mode?

Do I just copy the certificate and put into C:\root or I have to change the certificate name to C:\Asus.xrm-ms?

Dont put the cert in a folder, just put it directly in C:\

('root' is just another term for the C: drive)

EDIT: The command is wrong too.

    Its not slmgr -ilc C:\Asus.rms-ms

It should be slmgr -ilc C:\Asus.xrm-ms

This is of course assuming that the certificate is named Asus.xrm-ms

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Ther original digital file name is _Asus_E19480801. I renamed it asus.xrm-ms and put it in C:\ root (no folder). I still got that message.
When I install Windows 7 under enter product key page, I forgot to uncheck with automatic activate online. Does that have any effect?
I am going to try one more time.

Does it matter if I incorrectly name the file incorrectly like asus.rms-ms instead of asus.xrm-ms? If I incorrectly name the file, I also input the same incorrect name in the command. IS the command required correct file name? Please advise.

When I run command as administrator, cmd windows shows
C:\windows\system32\> I type slmgr -ilc C:\asus.xrm-ms , I got the same message that posted previously. I read old threads under MDL Official WIndows 7 Depository, one person uses command slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\hp.xrm-ms ( because the slic is HP). I tried command slmgr.vbs slmgr -ilc C:\asus.xrm-ms. Same error message OXBBA.

The name of the .xrm.ms doesnt matter as long as you use the same name in the command.

As for the error; perhaps youre not installing it from an admin command prompt?

Just a guess, but if so be sure to run the CMD.exe as admin because thats a requirement for key and cert installs...

EDIT: Strike that...i just saw you were running it as admin. Well in that case im stumped too because it should be working...

BTW, this sounds kind of odd.

Are you sure that this is really the certificate and not something else?

Because certs usually come with the .xrm-ms extension, meaning you shouldnt have to add it manually...

EDIT: Attached ASUS Certificate. Try this one.

Thanks for the key. I will try that and see whether it makes any difference. I will be back to you.
Would do it in safe mode recommendable?
FYI, the Asus certificate that I have was provided by NoJuan999. I is XrML digital license modified date 9/28/2009. Whereas the one you attached is dated 8/16/2009. I don't care about the date. I hope that it works with yours.

Official Windows 7 Repository instruction is
slmgr -ilc C:\name.xrm-ms. In one of MDL forum threads, someone used slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\hp.xrm-ms (because of HP SLIC in case of the writer).

I tried with your key and the result is the same error message OXBBA. I disconnect my Internet and it does not make a difference. Now I don't know what to do now.
Is Windows 7 trial key in the way?

Well NoJuan knows what he is doing so i dont think he would pack you up the wrong certificate.

The one i attached is the one i found in my CERTs folder, i dont know how old or how new it is.

It may or may not work...if it doesnt then im sure we will find one that does.

BTW, safe mode is not necessary. And slmgr -ilc will do from an admin cmd prompt, meaning the .vbs is not needed.)

    I need your help.

I reinstalled Windows 7 successfully this morning after some Windows blue screen scare last night. Just wait and it will install Windows 7 it did.

I tried 4 times to insert Asus Certificate that provided following Official Windows Repository method 6 (E). I got following error message:

Windows Script Host [Windows showing following error message]
"On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run slui.exe 0x2a OXBBA to dispaly the error text.
    Error: OXBBA"

Any idea what I should do next?

I have checked your error message.

Its really slui.exe 0x2a0xbba and this means that Windows is activated!

Just copy the blue text and run it in a CMD shell and a big window saying 'Activation was successful' should pop up...

You can name it "WhteverYouWant".xrm-ms (Asus.xrm-ms is fine) and yes copy it to the C:\ folder.

According to his error code he was already activated.

But if he insists on doing it again, well, its his time to waste...
