@loader24 Image you used? Build, language etc. How was it created? How is your *.xml file looking? (in code tag would be nice) Location of *.xml in image? (maybe a small screenshot )
I used the MVS October release 22000.258 - Business edition (not same image) Remastered image with UISO and used Ventoy - a clean install worked as expected, no issues. (my *.xml is slightly smaller, i skipped the CPU entry fyi) Edit: I could add that my goto so far on this "voyage" is Rufus. I find it very easy and faster to modify if I want to clean install or do an upgrade/or inplace repair. And since latest Rufus 3.17 is now signed and supports installing with Secure boot enabled it is also a win-win. Anyway, just my preference atm.
When I find some time I will prepare for you AutoUnattend.xml to auto crete a partition and bypass a restriction in BIOS/MBR mode HD. And others like that who will do the same thing but in UEFI/GPT mode HD. An awful lot of intolerance on this forum.
Thanks to this thread I've managed to get passed the TPM restriction message, however I am now getting the following after 0% on the blue 'Installing' screen: Windows 11 Setup - Windows 11 installation has failed This is when running the setup from within the existing build 22000.282 to the latest downloadable ISO from Microsoft (Build 22483). Any ideas ?? Thanks in advance
If you got there without an error, I think the error is in the broken installation windows, download iso again and make a new USB
Thanks, I'll try and download the ISO again. I'm not using a USB. Just downloaded the ISO, copied the contents into a folder and running it from there (with the AutoUnattend.xml) added.
same because if the installation went through the first phase and stopped at 0% something is wrong with install.wim
@HappymanUK I tried to upgrade from 22000.282 to 22483 - it fails. I used the same image few days ago to clean install without any issues, upgrade fails however... Running from a separate partition (usb) btw. What bypass solution did you use for upgrade scenario? The AutoUnattend.xml will not work for upgrade fyi, just to be clear.
Already doing this, on VMware workstation 15 and a x230 simultaneous (with TPM disabled, not in-active) 4 GB RAM (removed one mem module) - Anyhoo, upgrading is problematic, as Enth pointed out as well, between MVS and insider preview. Don't have hw that satisfy Windows 11 requirements, but that isn't the goal either.
All my tests are on VMware, all off, 2CPU core, 2GB RAM, 30GB HDD, I have no problem, it happens when the system is oversaturated I will repeat on fresh
