you'd argue with a fence post wouldn't you? ... anyway, i too can confirm that the popup does not come up after 3 boots from the first prompt to install the ask webguard toolbar. so you were right Daz
Actually I might be arguing with a fence post ...lol But really I'm one of those long term members that want's to post their experience just in case you've configured or installed avira improperly Sorry I'm not having problem you are...lol And I'm not Daz hmm bad drug you might be smoking To the herb side of the force you must come yes he he he
and i wasn't calling you Daz, and there's no problem here only expressing an opinion, you apparently have the problem since you haven't encountered the prompt to install the web guard ask toolbar and you feel the need to have the last useless word--useless being the focal adjective of that statement... and yes @ this point you are arguing with a fence post because i'm done replying to your nonsense...
Nonesense = "web guard ask toolbar" problem you are having No one I know is getting this problem = many people lol
@yoda (timesurfer) try to invoke update on avira: right click on open umbrella icon in systray and choose start update. ok. did you list your avira folder and compare with mine (previous post) ? if you have apn*.exe files you have instalation of ask toolbar. maybe some other security program (firewall spyware or other ?!) blocks installation. this was message from the dark side ... lol
Yea I think I had that one file but never got flag/warning/whatever Can't you guys just copy my "force" setup and have no problems ...lol And ain't no friends of mine having this problem Maybe Californians aren't having this problem cause of the higher consciousness phenomenon
Avira: Configure->update->product update did you thick recommended option (auto update with auto restart ?) If you want toolbar (for test or curiosity) just start apntoolbarinstaller.exe with your levitation power you can't copy the force, you must feel it and use it lol good luck

Write a little batch script to do this? I never minded the update popup since avira is the best for free
challenge ? Triology is nice batch job ... my speed answer is: I'm not tested it ... just type directly ... echo Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 > avira_10.reg echo. echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run] "avgnt"="\"C:\\Program Files\\Avira\\AntiVir Desktop\\avgnt.exe\" /min /ns" >> avira_10.reg echo. echo [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\Safer\CodeIdentifiers\0\Paths\{a4eb1ded-a858-4081-a9e3-4679ac0f687f}] >> avira_10.reg echo "Description"="" >> avira_10.reg echo "SaferFlags"=dword:00000000 >> avira_10.reg echo "ItemData"="C:\\Program Files\\Avira\\AntiVir Desktop\\avnotify.exe" >> avira_10.reg start avira_10.reg I type dos commands since 1986 explain: first redirection > is for generate a new file other >> ones are append to file echo. represent <CR> in file ... cheers
reg file is tested and works fine batch file is not tested - it was just typed. I miss: replace echo. with echo. >> avira_10.reg It was late evening when I type it Now I must go to my job ... see you
