(About AsRock K7VT4A Pro BIOS I tryid to install xp again, but when i had been installing about 35 minutes (when xp was installing devices...) it hitted me with blue screen. And again and again.
There is always a risk to brick it even with unmodded one's. The risk is higher with modded one's. A Crisis disk recovery is the only option, if that doesn't work it is back to the shop.
I'm going to see if I can RMA it for repair. I think that if it had NOT programmed the boot block I should have been able to undo it. I'm not sure as I am pretty new at this. The DOS flash tool won't work under Vista CMD window so I had to use the windows programming tool. Even though that is not the best idea, it was the only one I had as my HTPC is not equipped with a floppy drive. I couldn't find a good USB boot image either. Perhaps someone that did have a successful flash can post somewhere how they did it and if it all worked well.....? thanks!
No there quite old bioses there isn't much that there can be done with it. On some it works on some it don't, unlucky that you have the not working one's.
