I'm going to see if I can RMA it for repair. I think that if it had NOT programmed the boot block I should have been able to undo it. I'm not sure as I am pretty new at this. The DOS flash tool won't work under Vista CMD window so I had to use the windows programming tool. Even though that is not the best idea, it was the only one I had as my HTPC is not equipped with a floppy drive. I couldn't find a good USB boot image either. Perhaps someone that did have a successful flash can post somewhere how they did it and if it all worked well.....? thanks!
No there quite old bioses there isn't much that there can be done with it. On some it works on some it don't, unlucky that you have the not working one's.
The program is called acpiscope. Install it, Goto file select load information from bios. Save & upload the xxxx.ats file.
I'm very sorry to hear that. You can try to recover. 1. Create a bootable floppydisk. 2. Copy "AMIFLASH" to floppydisk. 3. Create a textfile with "A:\AMIFLASH.EXE AMIBOOT.ROM /P /B /N /C /R" as content. 4. Save created textfile as "AUTOEXEC.BAT" to floppydisk. 5. Copy disered biosfile to floppydisk, rename it as "AMIBOOT.ROM". 6. Cold start the computer you want to flash, and press "ctrl+home" keys simultaneously.
Great, glad you got it working. I was curious when I found all the MSI stuff in the bios, but I assumed it was inactive since you were requesting the mod.
The mods should work without those options, although I would try them if the initial flash does not activate. They are not mandatory for those 2 mods. Good luck.
