Hello all, I'm a beginner here and i have a few simple questions. 1.There's 2 ways to use Vista: using an activation tools (not work for me), or mod his own BIOS, is that alright? Is the BIOS way is working at 100%? It's probably a stupid question, but i don't understand exactly how it work... Sorry, i'm not english, so perhaps i didn't understand everything at the moment. Found[2.My second question is on how to know our bios? I've a notebook, an HP nc8230 and i can't find anything about his bios at the moment. But i will!] This is really simple question as you can see, but i'm too noob to really understand if my vista will work if i mod my bios or not. Thanks and have a nice day guys. Just an useful hint for beginner like me: Start>Run>Regedit, then find this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System. Then, go to SystemBiosVersion, and click modify. ===> Bios version is here. Hope it will be helpful.
Your bios is stored on a chip on your board, not in the registry. You cant modify your bios thru the registry. You can see the bios version and type by installing software like Everest or the way you describe it If you want a bios mod for your computer post a download link to the bios for your computer.
Thanks for your answer Petar. I downloaded Everest and will post a request on the forum. But i still don't understand the goal of a bios mod. Is the only way to activate Vista?
If Vista Loader doesnt works for you Paradox will, but you cant install SP1, so bios mod is the only solution. The goal of a bios mod is to insert a set of strings in it, caled SLIC. Once you have a SLIC in the bios you can activate Vista with an matching cert, just as the OEM's does.
