It is calling the slic from another address..I dont know where.. I think it would be a ton easier with acpiscope file..anyway..maybe someone else can figure it out, or just use the fc mod..I dont know how to do that:cool:

Maybe just cool down and take a fresh look later..Put the link to the asus bios back up and see if another has a better go of it...can't say we didn't try:D

Obviously, you have not read much of this thread. I admit, a 1300+ pages ain't inviting, really. But shouldn't you have read the start at least? This thread is about proving the concept of activating vista by inserting an additional SLIC table with licensing info into the BIOS. This made possible by various means and methods, showing, that there are many ways to into ROM(e) (refferring to a german or maybe even international phrase, hrhrhr). So you will most likely not get any help with unlocking purposely locked functions, since this is quite a different pair of shoes. It may or may not involve some very tricky actions, while adding a slic table basically just means to somehow disassemble the different modules of the bios, put in another module, correct adresses, assemble all again and done. So, my stranger friend, try your luck with a slic-activated vista, or else, move on to another thread or forum to find what you desire...

Hi, would some one please modify the latest BIOS for the ASUS P5Q-E motherboard.

    The latest version is 1306.

I would set up a link however the website is using some sort of javascript.

I would like to try mod the BIOS myself as i did with my previous Gigabyte P965 board, however i do not know how to edit the ASUS .rom bios file.

Can anyone one help me on this?

Thanks very much for pointing that out for me :)

I should have been able to find that myself to tell the truth, but the site is really getting pretty crowded if you don't mind me saying.

Try to activate..did you clear cmos and load defaults...this makes a difference sometimes. If you could install ACPIscope and upload an ats file, it would most likely make things a bit smoother...
One more thing..do NOT use EZflash..boot from bootdisk and use the awdflash program..ezflash is a bit hinkey with modded bios'
