For me it's the same problem with this new one as yesterday with the previous : system hangs without any beep when rebooting after configuring bios.... It's a shame because with 1236 doesn't boot with 4x1GB or 2x2GB DDR modules.
I dont know why it is hanging..I have been adjusting the checksums to previous..I suppose I could put one out withput adjusting the checksum Maybe that is the issue, no? What do you think Want to try it..It seems that the previous mod is the same type, but the checksums do not seem to be adjusted to unmodified values...thats all I got
No thanks, I would say that the problems do not look like checksums error : the bios behaviour is clearly modified, but I can still access to setup screen or even boot on DOS a floppy to reflash. Maybe Petar or Alessio[IT] can help when they are around. I'll keep watching the forum and test !!!
With the 1236 all activation works great. I can activate vista and using more than 2 Gb of ram. in the bios you must enable memory remapping ... without that you can only use 2 gb of your ram .. enable it and all works great ... but with the 1237 the asus p5b deluxe bios i can not activate vista .. all works greate but not the activation ... why? is the 1237 bios official ? i don't know ... please help me with a working asus p5b deluxe 1237 bios (ami)
Don't know exactly if 1237 is an official but unreleased bios from asus ou a hacked one. Obviously I didn't got it from asus, but it works fine for me without activating memory remapping. I had a KO with 1236 with 4 x OCZ 1 GB 6400 platinum and 2 x Crucial 2GB 6400 Ballistix Tracer. Saw in forums that I wasn't the only one. Maybe I will try again.
