Just tested the bios flash and it hasn't worked, YET. Did cmos reset then reset bios defaults, booted to floppy, entered; afudos /ip4v800d-x-0704 -asus-slic.rom. fdd whirred then just displayed the option to input bios or save bios. Have I gone wrong somewhere. Can anyone advise please.I'll be around all night figuring it out.
Pure DOS cannot handle long file names. Rename the mod file to something like S0704.rom and then run from dos afudos /iS0704.ROM Report back please.
Thank you p4spooky. that worked a treat. Just went from clony activated to 15 days left to ms activate NOW with limited function. Now with your teams input win properties says windows is activated and my original product id is back to how it was. Also everest now shows slic. i am just going to finish inputting the asus licence and proper serial. This all happened because of sp1 which knocked out the clonysoft. I did uninstall the clony before bios mod reflash. I'll post proper feedback when I have finished. Thanks again.
GA-DX58-UD4P bios mod I tried the bios mod for this board that is already on here but I get a checksum error. and the backup bios kicks in and over writes it. I can flash it just fine with the original f5 bios. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem.
