Isn't BIOS rev.1701 for the M2N32 Sli Deluxe rather than M2N Sli Deluxe? The latest BIOS I can find for the later is 1604 and it's still beta. Anyone have rev. 1405 BIOS for M2N Sli Deluxe laying around? All the links I can find here and elsewhere have been deleted or are no longer valid. Edit: Ah... I see ASUS has recently added 1701 for the M2N Sli Deluxe. I'll try that.
Interesting. I have seen this before on one of my ASUS boards - my p5K. If the SLIC table is above the AMIBIOSC header (as it is here) - then funny things happen (in my case vista hangs on startup), when it is below all is fine. Here there is no space below. 911medic / p4spooky et. al. - have you ever done a successful ASUS SSV2 mod with the SLIC above the AMIBIOSC header?? Andy
an .ats file would be nice. Maybe the code at the pointer has been overwritten?? One from mem. and one from bios.. As a rule, SSv2 and ASUS doesn't bode well for a good outcome... Try SSv1 with 23 module..see if this works..
Sorry about this, care to define what the issue is? Cannot do a lot with "Screwed up my system badly" quote of yours.
This is the second case I have seen where a SSV2 mod failed on asus where we insert the slic above the amibios string. I am going to stop doing these - don't want to take any more chances and do a SSV1 mod like Medic suggests.
Flashed with the DOS utility, via USB pen drive. The system no longer booted. I had to reflash the old BIOS with a restore CD. This issue happened once with a BIOS mod from another user, before Fzeven send a working version.
OK - sorry about that. Looks like EVGA X58 does not like ISA mods. I am glad you were able to recover. I will let Zort/Medic take a look at this.
