Hi Can you tell me where in Everest I check if a SLIC table referenced? I have EVEREST Home Edition installed. Thanks
So many pages Been searching for bios mod , but so many pages in this post. Looking for bios mod for: Motherboard - XFX GeForce 8200 MCP Socket AM2+ Bios - American Megatrends v.02.61 If you need more details please let me know, not sure what else to give. Any help would be appreciated.
I have double checked the BIOS mod and it is correct. I am assuming the flash went OK and your have tried to clear CMOS?
Yes the flash seemed fine. When i rebooted i got that message and i have tried clearing cmos. I cant get it to boot from usb drive or cd to recover. Any ideas? Im gonna get ahold of evga to see if there is a recovery method.
Please disconnect all peripherials except 1 CD drive to SATA1 port and see if it will access this device at boot. Also please post if EVGAs solution works. I will check with Zort on the mod and post back.
Ok will do. EVGA suggested taking the cmos battery out I am trying that. Then I will try your suggestion. Tried EVGA's suggestion and yours no luck. Im gonna get on the horn about rmaing the board or requesting a new bios chip be sent. If you have any other ideas or solutions let me know. And don't feel bad spooky, I knew the risk before doing it. It aint your fault and when it comes to this kind of stuff win some lose some. Maybe it can be revised again. Like I said the sz21 bios on here worked like a charm. Wonder what changed from that bios to this one. I did notice that intel slic was new what exactly is that for?
Well, not too happy right now having killed a $300 board. I am stumped because the mod is correct. All that was changed was 1 byte in the ACPITBL.bin (changed SLIC to SLEC). I will have Zort take a look at it. I think the BIOS chip is soldered on the board - check that if it is in a socket, then you don't need to RMA the board. If you have a similar board you can hot flash. Please talk to EVGA they have the best support. We will figure this out - sorry about the issues you are now faced with.
No biggy... Im losing nothing but a little time waiting on rma. I should be up and running next week sometime. I will not hesitate to try again. You guys normally hit every bios right the first time. So Im sure you'll get this one. Again thanks for the effort you're putting in on this.
