-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model: HP AmberineM-GL6E/ASUS A8AE-LE
    -Bios revision: 3.15
    -Bios Type: Pheonix
    -VISTA Activated(Primary)/XP Media Center 2005 SP3 Activated(Secondary)

I have check sum error from recently installing the update sp35891 on a model HP A1210N with dual-configuration. How would I go about installing the bios since I can't access or find the HP standard update utility on the web?

Shutdown the PC, turn off power and clear CMOS, see if the machine boots after that.

    Report back please :D

OK try these steps before jumping to the conclusion that you need a new chip. Your board has crash free bios and you shoulld be able to recover if you follow these simple steps:

    1. Download 0604 Original bios from Asus
2A. Rename the file to M4A78EM.ROM and copy to USB stick (root folder)
2B. Rename the copy of the 0604 original bios to M4A78-EM.ROM and copy to USB stick (root folder)
2C. Insert the CD that came with the board in your CD drive
    3. Power down, Clear CMOS
    4. Insert USB stick to the back USB port
    5. Start the machine
    6. Should recover from one of these sources

    Report back please :D

I manually checked the mod and there is nothing wrong with it.
