@GraceSlic: I m using the 1.70 and asked for a mod for the new 1.80 bios. Meanwhile, I got this new modded 1.80 as I wrote today " 1.80 tested and works fine". So, 1234s282 modded this today and it works.. Sorry for this confusion...
Can you please confirm that you did a full power down and a cmos clear. You may also want to remove the battery for about 15 minutes and retry. Report back please
Just did the whole; disconnect power cables fromt he board, pop the battery out and set jumpers to clear for 15 mins. CPU fan cycles on and off.
They both have MSI_NB MEGABOOK SLIC in 1B and they both have "MSI-Notebook" after $ODB$. (That isn't a valid SLP name for msi oembios CRC=CBD82950. If it came with an XP restore cd maybe it has different oembios files included that will work. Otherwise you'll need a SLP mod.) The main difference that I see is the one for Vista has an extra rom hole. The part of the bios file that corresponds to it (offset 10000-1015F) has an extra copy of the MSI SLIC minus SLIC header like an FC module. I think that one is more likely to have the SLIC show up. So I'd go with the Vista version and add another SLP name if needed.
We might need you to save the bios and upload it. (First update to version you want modded if you haven't already.) awdflash /pn /sy bios.rom
This bios already has full HP SLIC in ACPITBL. If you're using this bios already, does Everest show a SLIC under Motherboard-ACPI? The one he posted as attachments works.
