Thank you. The files may be small and the chance of corruption limited but if it does happen it could be a very expensive mistake to flash a corrupt Bios to a motherboard. Even though motherboard makers don't usually supply file hashes, I believe they should do. I usually download the file multiple times and compare hashes to make sure what I downloaded is free from corruption. I have in the past downloaded Bioses from Gigabyte multiple times in order to check them and the hashes have not always matched indicating that the download was different in some way so either they changed the file or it had corruption.

You did a nice job on the Bioses. Unlike the modded F7 Bios, the one's you did for me did not show Dell on the Bios post screen which means the Bios appears identical to the original which could help if a board needed a RMA and the Bios couldn't be re-flashed back to an unmodded Bios before RMAing.

The flash program isn't need with this motherboard because it can be flashed from the Bios or post screen by pressing F8 to enter the flash utility. Providing the Bios is stored on an accessible disk such as Fat32 and not NTFS from windows before rebooting the Bios can be accessed to do the flash.

I have tried both modded Bioses and they do both work as they should. Windows 7 needed the certificate updated because it showed a not genuine message on boot up and that I had to activate today due to using the DELL Slic F7 Bios previously. Changing the certificate for the one you supplied and it worked perfectly.

I was using F8f for quite some time and and I didn't want to boot Win 7 because of the need to activate. The F8f Bios is a big improvement over F7 IMO. It has options to save Bios settings to Disk and backup the Bios itself to disk in case of Bios corruption which I have experienced on numerous occasions with earlier Bioses whenever my PC Crashed or BSOD'd. If I was to press the reset button my PC would reboot and then show a corrupt Bios message and overwrite it with the backup losing the saved Bios settings/profiles. The F8f/F8g Bioses allow the settings to be backed up and even the Bios itself backed up and restored from disk in the event of Bios corruption. The best part is that the Bios corruption I experienced frequently with earlier Bioses has not happened since using F8f.

I highly recommend F8f/F8g for people using the Gigabyte GA-X48-DS5 motherboard, they are the best Bioses so far. F8g has a fix for people using OCZ SSD's with Sandforce controller, it is supposed to fix a SMART issue with 1.11 firmware.

Once more, a big thank you for a job well done. I am pleased with it now that the issues with previous Bioses are protected against and so far eliminated and that I can use Win 7 again. :D

Ps Put the hashes in the thread with the Bios links for anyone else who wants them ;)

F8f & F8g confirmed working! Thanks given on your last posts.
