Have a question.............I figured out how to use the Award program, but what I dont understand, is there any difference in the 2 folders SLIC 2.1 and SLIC21, and which one would I choose from? Next, Ive noticed, for example Dell has many different SLICS, is it best just to use the one labeled DELL? Next, the SLP, has DELL and DELL SYSTEM. Am I right to think for a gigabyte board, that I should go with DELL, and not DELL SYSTEM, beings that I built this PC myself?

I have R1.0 of that motherboard. Pctreiber.net is a german site that has more of the beta bios of this and other motherboards. These bios have additional features added to support more recent cpu/memory/video cards. The official site of this motherboard doesnt really update that much.

If you will not be using XP, forget the SLP.

For Vista or W7, use the SLIC of your choice. Because it is home built does not limit the use of manufacturer. Any you want is ok.

    SLIC2.0 is for Vista

    SLIC21(or 2.1) is for Vista/W7

    SLP is for XP

Being a gigabyte, You can use Gigabyte SLIC2.0 and SLP for consistency. If you want for W7, use any 2.1 SLICS.
